The fine individuals who have brought you C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux and Tiberian Sun Redux for CnC Zero Hour, have decided to switch over to CnC 3 to give you a more Tiberian Sun themed mod then they could on Generals Zero Hour. The mod will feature all of the Original Tiberian Sun and Firestorm units, together with new never seen before Forgotten units and structures, GDI and Nod Tiberian Dawn Timeline units and structures you can capture on the battlefield or even if you want play as them, and remove those Hightech egg-heads from the battlefield. With all this extra firepower a new faction have arrived, little to none information is available at the time for what there purpose is in this war, but we will find out soon.

I always pictured the fiend more wolf or dog like, personally :/

Yes, that's how they're typically described... and the size of a horse.

I recall, when they attacked, they sounded a lot like a pig or boar.

I always attributed that as an effect of the Tiberium poisoning, impairing the vocal chords.

Yeah but a Wolf or Dog doesn't look that dangerous, I mean come'on do they look like something you want to run away from ?

That depends, is it snarling, arching its back, pinning its ears, and the size of a horse? I think that could inspire fear.

There are dogs with the size of a pony, but I wanted to do something original. Model can change in development, maybe I'm going for more variations of the fiend.

Problem with these is that they don't look fast or predatorial, they look like grazing animals that you might not want to spook.

They look like mutated cattle that graze on tiberium... Not that that is a bad concept in itself, their attack could be to charge at their target. While a tiberium wolf-like fiend hunts these beasts going cloaked (camouflaged) when in tiberium fields. Never liked the original ranged attack of shooting tiberium and oinking...

If you really want these in here, I think your best option is to not have them take the place of the iconic Tiberium Fiend, and instead represent a new and different creature entirely.

lol, no.
The Tiberium Fiend is a mutated dog.PERIOD
Firestorm manual:
"The fiend usually appears as a quadruped similar in shape to a terrestrial dog, but more the size of a large horse or small elephant. The underlying skin is usually a
blackish-brown to red color, but in most cases this is completely covered
by a growth of pure Tiberium crystals on its back.
There are documented cases of members of the Forgotten training (if not domesticating) fiends for use as “guard dogs”. Specimens have also been
seen responding to perceived acts of kindness."

From a old press release:
"Also known as Canus Tiberius, it is believed the Tiberium Fiend is a mutated version of the common dog which has grown to monumental size and sprouted Tiberium crystals from its back. Yes, you may remember them from Tiberian Sun, but these new improved versions are larger and tougher. Like the Viceroid, Tiberium Fiends can cure their wounds when in direct contact with Tiberium, making them difficult foes to engage in the middle of a Tiberium field. While the beasts usually attack with a clawing or biting attack, they can also launch poisonous Tiberium crystals from their backs, much to the woe of their intended target. There have recently been reports of Tiberium Fiends seen used as guard dogs by members of the Forgotten, but details of this are sketchy."

As for the sound its making, is a stock black scorpion track.
