The Uprising mod for Half-Life 2

An action thriller, based off the Half-Life 2 Engine.
Not much else is known at this point, but we are trying to get something decent thrown together.
Give it a chance, kind of a vague description now, because we are not quite decided on the storyline yet. Here are some features that we are toying with having.

-This is an FPS, obviously, but we are thinking of adding the feature to switch back and fourth between FPS and third Person.
-Rebellions, and lots of them
-Expect some Combine, this will most likely be in the HL2 Universe

So just keep waiting my friends.. it will come eventually and be awesome.

BUT we do have some storylines going, and some great ideas.
Here are a few from fellow team members-
(NOTE: As of now, no specific one has been decided on)

gray_fox's idea-
"The Combine has just witnessed its first defeat. After hearing of the destruction of the citadel in City 17, the humans began retaliating with hope of victory. One of the largest of these Combine cities, city __, is now going through intense carnage. A rebel organization, created shortly after the City 17 incident, is encourging everyone to fight back and expunge the combine off the face of the Earth. Unfortunately the combine are taking no chances and are sending the best soldiers they can offer. Now, a group of mercenaries have arrived determined to help the city's resistance force. Their mission is to eliminate every combine citadel and combine leader. They find that this city contains a destructive weapon capable of long-range attacks. If the mercs can capture this weapon, they could simply attack combine citadels from city __. The fight for survival has just started."

Xenocidebot's Suggestions-
"And for the story, why not have it take place in a slightly more advanced time than our own? And the main plot can be about a revoultion started by an outside agency- from another nation at war with the one they live in? So the revolution has problems, they need to beat their own corrupt leader and at the same time not give in to the other country's attempts to make themself in charge. And the whole thing has to be part of a greater world conflict. Like, World War 3?
The main reason I say these things is that the setting gives us modern-advanced weapons. The prescence of multiple nations at one time gives us wide range of firearms to be available to the player. And on the side, it makes us original. Although, I haven't even learned to skin yet- how long would making all that take?"

the w00t's suggestion-
"Story:
Some guy is dictator of this one European country not named, but blablabla REVOLUTION! And you're a revolutionary."

These are just some of the ideas we are coming up with, some better than others.
We will update this as much as we can, but for now, this is all we have.
Expect great things for this mod in the near future...
