Hi guys, sadly when I launched the mod I got this message & the game shut down:
Failed to read censored word dictionary file: data//chat_filter.san
As a modder, let's assume I've installed it correctly, any ideas?
Just copy chat_filter.san file from \Rome Total War Alexander\alexander\data to data folder of the mod.
The mod has that file so I’m not sure what’s causing that error. Steam or non-steam?

I have no clue then, everything should work fine if you installed correctly.
I am having this same issue now only I am using the steam version. What do I need to do to fix this?

You need to simply extract those files into your RTW Directory or if you are using steam Alexander, your RTW Alexander Directory :)

ive read the 3.0 comments so i know how to workaround this bug, game crashes to desktop when i cross the ocean or is it a land bridge not sure. at the bottom of italy if i attack in the same turn it will crash, i guess my question is there a fix or is it still being worked on?
The crash is caused by a land bridge.. Which is impossible to fight battles on if there are armies on opposite sides of the water. Either make sure all armies are on the same side, OR auto-resolve.
all armies are in Sicily but if i attack on turn one it will crash, auto resolve results in defeated, i tried moving the army into sicily before i attack same result on the same turn, ill screenshot and upload if needed, thanks for your reply, i look foreword to seeing more updates.

Je suis sous Windows 7 et je n'arrive pas à installer Alexander. La seule version que je trouve dans le commerce est Eras. Existe t'il d'autre version et où la trouver? Sans Alexander RTR 8 ne fonctionne pas.
The mod requires Alexander. I am not sure why you cannot use it? If using steam, make sure RTR is in the RTW Alexander folder.

Hey loving the mod so far, just one problem. Why are the free peoples so powerful, im about 25 years in as pontus and defended against egypt, then two full stacks with silver armour attack sinope, whilst their single settlement is producing -8000 gold. I know you have to give them some "cheats" to survivee but this one ccity has a larger army then egypt and the selukids. Is there a way to reduce their strength? Much appreciated for your hard work on this great mod.
Rebels are very challenging yes, and honestly we intend to keep it that way. One thing we have talked about is adding some superfactions, to split the rebels up.
I put the RTR folder in de RTW directory, so i run the game by the laucher and it works! But after a execute the laucher and run the game and start a campaing and play i just can't save the game.
Before a run the game by the laucher he advice me that a message of error and say that can't copy de main campaing, is that advice explain why i can't save?
Who has the same problem? How i can resolve this? Please help!
Not sure, you should be able to save the game if you are activating the script correctly.
First of all great work, I played total realism few years back and great to see it still alive and kicking. But my game crashes after I end 4th turn and it's Galatians tribes turn, any suggestions?
That CTD delayed our latest patch by a month, but it was fixed!
The game crashes whenever I do a battle. Sometimes it'll let me deploy my troops and sometimes it won't. As soon as I hit "Start Battle", though, it'll crash.
Something I found no information on with regard to this mod but with another mod, is that I have to click the advisor button to finish loading scripts on the campaign map. If I do, it's supposed to give me 1 Talent (money) to indicate it's successful. I tried it in this mod, and sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't, but it seems to have no bearing on whether the battles work or not.
Campaign map works fine though, and looks great. Launcher seems to work as intended. I just can't fight battles.
Is it crashing after you hit deploy and getting super glitchy? I have had the same problem. We think it had something to do with the weather file. Try the new patch, I hope we fixed it!
Completely wiped my Alexander folder and reinstalled it before installing the new version of the mod. It fails to see RomeTW-ALX.exe.
Nvm, I extracted it wrong. It's launching now.

And i did a fresh install of Alexander on Steam then did exactly what you said in the installation instructions... so wtf seriously? what the problem?
alright i find out the problem lol, i was using Rome Total Realism platinum last time i play RTW Alexander and for launching the game on steam we have to add a ''set launch option'' and the platinum edition ''set launch option'' was still there even after reinstalling RTW Alexander...

Sorry but I don't seem to have a way to save the game. The options to save and load the game are disabled.
I still need assistance trying to install the v4.0.2 of RTR 8. I have RTW for Steam. From how I understood the directions I need to download the mod and then place it into the RTW Alexander directory since I have it for steam. If I understand the term directory right I assume that means just place it into the main RTW Alexander folder? If this is the case this has no effect at all. Also when I have the mod file downloaded it shows up as a file using the notepad application to view it but when I attempt to open it, it says the file is too large to be opened using notepad. So my next question is what kind of application should it be using? I also installed AWE Zip so I can zip and then unzip the file but this as well does not work. PLEASE HELP, I would love to play this mod again

the game keep crashing crashing during grand battles....when i'm zooming in....it's not matter if during a charge or prolonged fighting....i want to see melee fight :D not form the far view.

I'm not exactly sure how to install rtr 8 4.0.2
I have added the rtr files into the Alexander directory, but not sure how to properly install. When I try the rtr launcher I get the error message:
Rome total war: alexander executable was not found. make sure you have installed rtr correctly, and that the launcher is in the location [RTW install folder]/[RTR mod folder]/[launcher folder]/RTRlauncher.exe
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
