Road to Limansk is a mod for Clear Sky aimed at improving all aspects of game play.
Nothing special about these two. They look alot like the M16a3 and M4 already in the mod.
Few big differences though. Both can only mount a Colt Scope. Both are unreliable has hell, your lucky to get 30 rounds out of them without a jam once they hit 95%. Sorta like the real deal, only these are in a lot tougher environment then Vietnam.
I said before I wanted CS to use older NATO weaponry, and these are going to fill out their mid and some higher tier squads. You'll be able to pick these up in the swamp, but I doubt you'll want to use them for long and their resale value sucks.
Also, I'm ditching the whole "Renegades are a tutorial faction" crap and making them into an actual tough enemy. The whole swamp/tutorial thing has always been a farce anyway so it can go.
I like them a lot, it's not easy to get good M16 model in CS/CoP because they either have default scope, or camo, or wrong sizes etc so this is a good addition.
About the jamming however this is a stereotype than a real thing... Sure, M16A1 will jam a lot more than AKM but it's not like it will jam every few mags.
The jamming thing is just a way to balance it out. These things are going to be everywhere in the swamp and I don't want to give the player an endgame assault rifle in the beginning. Its alot worse then the AKs someone can scavenge from the army in the Cordon.
How about going Misery way then? I'm talking about New Ordnance mod: you can make few variants of this apart from standard: worn, rusty etc this way you can give Renegades on Marshes rusty, old M16s that will jam every few shots and make standard M16 a normal gun aviable after Cordon.
This would mean thousand of hours of more work, I think upgrading it at mechs getting it stronger would be better.
Anyway this will be probably my endgame rifle cause I love the M16 (btw this model is an M16, not M16A1, the M16A1 has a muzzlebrake like the other modern M16s and a slighty more reliable mechanism than the faulty one of the M16, this because of direct field feedback in Vietnam war)
I have them setup to take take the standard AR/LR300 upgrades so they do become fairly reliable if someone wants to put the $$ into them. Noted though about the name, I'll drop the A1 in the config files.
Economy has been adjusted though so money is alot harder to come by so the player isn't going to be leaving the swamps with 100% upgrades.
I think a New Ordinance style setup would be cool, but the time it would take would be insane. I already want to get the Shoker scripts in, which means adding new models for every rifle in the game.
I have the ZOA magazine system working now, not quit sure if I'm going to go through with setting it up though. Its cool and adds when more of an RPG element, but it might just be to realistic.
Here is a video of it

I wouldn't worry about a New Ordnance-style addon unless you get more texturers, just seems too tedious.
The ZoA mag system would be super cool IMO, but I'd remove the manual loading of mags. Given that unloading mags is one click, and time is sped up 10x in STALKER, loading them ought to be sped up as well.
Handing's from MW2. Isn't it ?
