Synopsis
Just as mankind is on the brink of extinction from a deadly pandemic, Extraterrestrials establish contact and offer a "cure" (an organism from their home planet). Although the majority of the population is afflicted by the raging virus and have no other option, a small minority immune to the virus resist the organism. Due to Mans inability to coexist, a social division emerges masking the presence of this hostile organism.

Your using actual footage from the news, and stuff, i thought that could get your or Moddb into trouble?
They broadcast the news for free on television and the internet. All I did was take few dozen broadcast and cut them together. It would be no different than someone uploading a news broadcast on youtube.
Yeah true, and yes ive had videos that used footage off the news removed. I was at an airport many years ago with my family, and the airport was being filmed on the news, i didnt know this, but my uncle called my one day to inform me that i was on the news, and it looks way old.
So i went round to his, and recorded the footage off his sky+, then after converting the footage, uploading it, and get views off my friends and family it was removed for copyright problems.
Im just warning you to be honest. But i do agree with some others. Its a little boring, it should have like 3-5 broadcasts, then shoot to some ingame footage.
Thats what I thought when i saw Obama, I was like thats major copyright stuff right there. Gotta be careful with that stuff.

i liked it just fine, but i kept waiting for you to cut to some in game footage.
this trailer is like being a hitchhiker riding in a car with someone who is supposed to drop you off at the next gas station. he's drivin down the road, you see the gas station and you think he's going to stop, but instead he keeps going and kicks you out 20 miles down the road from the gas station where you needed to be.
show in game footage or in game screenshots or something!
oh, and im pretty sure that copyright does not apply to news media, but i dont know for sure. you shouldnt take legal advice from random people on the internet anyways.
I completely understand your point, I just intended to introduce people to the setting of the mod before I started showing new gameplay footage. Thanks for taking the time to view the trailer dremth.

#1. Mass copyright. I hope you don't get sued. By the way, its a mod, not a movie. It would be weird to see HL2 graphics right after a video with real people in it.

It looks more like a fan-made vid trying to remake an original one with real recordings rather than the actual trailer.
At least end it with something like a custom heavy monster breathe sound.
very cool i like the editing but it doesnt get to the point of how the necros really turn into such hostile beings. maybe a small clip or news page saying how sightings of "hostile mutants" are rising in numbers and are being turned off by police as hoaxes and maybe the clip from the mel gibson movie signs :P
ya vid seems to still have some stuff in it from copyright just take out the abc nbc and all that and maybe it will be ok not 100%.

I thought it was really cool. I got exactly what I expected; an expertly arranged series of modern-day news clips fit together to give a mood. It reminded me somewhat of the opening scene of the Dawn of the Dead remake.
People who are talking about copyright infringement: there is nothing infringing about this video. Using small clips of news programs for a non-profit mod trailer is probably the least copy infringing thing you could ever do.
