Will there be a new official patch for last kingdom mod been waiting for years for some new stuff for this mod
There's a crash on start-up and I installed everything correctly, although I do have the Wrath of the Northmen Submod. Does this affect the mod?
For a submod to work it is necessary that you have a clean install of the vanilla mod. This goes for any game.
See if these sub's you mentioned are compatible with different submods.

It does affect the mod, because the Unofficial Patch is for the 3.06 version only.
Will there be an official 4.0 patch?
Well, the creators of The Last Kingdom have been offline for years, since 2012 according to their Total War Center record, so the only will be viable option is to put together a new moddder team to go on with development.
The answer is no because the 3.06 version is a finished mod.
Anything released later is unofficial and counted as a submod.

I don't need this 4.0 version because everything is included in the 3.9 WOTN file ?
Meaning this update is obsolete and I only have to download the 3.9 WOTN version?
This update was posted by another guy, and is an Unofficial patch of the main 3.06 mod.
This mod (The Last Kingdom) was made originally by Danova and his team - then later released in 2013. The Unofficial 4.0 Patch was made by another guy who wasn't a part of said team - and he released the patch in 2017 on Total War Center.
Later another guy posted the patch here last year.
My sub-mod "Wrath of the Norsemen Expansion Sub-mod" is a different update of 3.06 that is entirely stand-alone from the 4.0 Unofficial Patch and the 3.06 release - it's based on the later and has the prior included.
I do not control this page because I am also a sub-modder of The Last Kingdom. But they are two separate sub-mods.
You do not need the Unofficial Patch for my sub-mod.
