Ridgewood has sat as a restricted site, owned by a private organisation for some 20 years. Even local law enforcement are forbidden to step foot in the area.

However in recent weeks, reports concerning the zone have flooded into the Special Task Force about missing persons, blood curdling sounds, and some witnesses claim they've encountered strange creatures lurking behind the perimeter fences.

You are the commanding officer of an elite Special Task Force. Your team has been recruited into a black ops mission to infiltrate the Ridgewood site. You objective is to investigate the reports from the area.

First of all, the problems Vic47 & Twitcherus has reported have either now been fixed, or responded to with the new patch. So Vic47's page long complaint can be ignored.

As for the mod, it really is something. You can tell a ton of work has gone into it, well done for that. It does completely change Killing Floor. It changes it so much that it is not Killing Floor anymore, and that is not a bad thing, it is a great thing.

It is a tough mod, not for the faint at heart, it takes concentration, because not only is it unpredictable, it's also a long slog because there are no saves. Some dislike the no saves thing, and I can understand why, but it reminds me of the classic Sega Sonic 2 days, you want to win, you have to be the best you can be.

Killing Floor took something and made it its own, this mod took Killing Floor, and flipped it on it's head and made that it's own, which is cool.

Overall a really enjoyable experience that I would like to see more of. Great work.

Well, okay, first of all, this mod seriously converts the original game, making it unplayable as normal KF. Thus, remembering how another similiar modification (Paranoia) for another base game (Half-Life) triggered a VAC-ban for those who tried to launch it on Steam, i, first of all, want to ask, is it safe to run KF turned into Ridgewood through Steam? Won't i get VAC-banned for this, like those poor guys who tried to play Paranoia mod for Half-Life?

Secondly - since i was unsure if it is safe, and since i own Killing Floor and all it's DLCs on Steam, and even bought wo more copies for my friends, i decided that it will be OK if i'll download a non-steam version of KF from teh torrents and try Ridgewood on that first. So i did, and... Bugs. Bugs everywhere.

First i've downloaded KF v1064, and got tons of crashes with crash logsin allsorts of random places. Okay. Then i've tried v1065, and found two "Ridgewood" "game modes" in the respective tab when starting a new game, but whichever i try, i get "invisible walls" in certain doorways. First one appeared only once, and it was blocking the doorway that leads to the "barn" with a valve, that is stuck in a vice on a workbench, but the second one pops up in the house where i get the "server key" and some personnel containment instructions document, after i pick up those items, preventing me from exiting the said house. I also hear the noise of a jet plane(?) flying by, while i'm in the house, and some "zombie sounds" (is that corpse in the nearby toilet "woke up" and made those?) when i come near the entrance door, but i just can't go outthrough it - i even hear a "ding" as if my knife hits a concrete wall and see a cloud of dust if i swing my knife at that doorway, but just can't go out. While all doors, both the first one and this one, opens and closes correctly (at least, visually), and they even pass through my character as if i, or them, are ghosts.

Also, i must say that:

- Thirdperson mode is a joke, since the player model moves very awkwardly, and waves the flashlight violently while running, lighting up everything but the road, or teh area righ infront of the player, that i want to light up.

- Zooming on the Documents is also useless, because it zooms to your hand, so you see your hand (and the thumb is blocking part of the text, btw.) and part of the document goes out of the field of view (farther than tehedge of the screen is) as if you were zooming up to the iron sights on your default Beretta pistol in Killing Floor.

- The Flashlight(s) recharges too slow, and runs out too fast, so i have to stand under every bloody lightpost, waiting while it fully recharges, even now, when iknow the beginning of the map as the back of my hand - even on Normal difficulty. This is very annoying.

- The first enemy pops out of the thin air right behind your back at some point, and turns into a jello when i kill it (it falls on the ground, curling up in a knot, all parts of it's body starts rotating around themselves and distort into themselves, looking kinda "liquid" and jelatinous at the same time in the process)

- I find it wierd and not cool that i can't just light up the flare and not throw it, but carry in my hand as a "torch" instead.

- The map is... welll... I dunno. Maybe it's okay, but i'm so bad with maps, but i have no idea how the map relates to the location i'm lurking in. It's juts outright useless for me. It'd rather had a compass, i guess. Really. Or a live marker showing me on the map in real time.

- Why are you spelling "otherside" in one word? I mean, for me, "The Otherside" is something like, you know, Heaven, Hell, Limbo... Some parallel world... And the other side of the door is simply "the other side". So are some demons or cursed souls locked those bloody doors "from The Otherside", huh?

- It's too bloody dark. I can't see a thing, and there's only 3 Flares and the Flashlight is of little use. I know that KF always had issues with being either too dark or too bright, no matter how hard you try and andjust your settings, so i just left those on their defaults to not make thecolours look unnatural, and this is a horror game but meh. I would like to at least see the road. Or simply come to teh location during daytime, or, at least, dusk or dawn. Wasn't it stupid o go to such a place in the middle of the night? And ALONE, when the game tells us we are a commander of some special ops squad. Where is our team? Or our logic?

As one of my friends said, "a good horror game must scare you with it's plot and atmosphere, not with pitch-black darkness and jumpscares."

So yeah, so far, i am quite disappointed. I even liked the UT2004Killing Floor Mod v1.0 better, i think. But it was good to see something entirely different for KF, since there's not too much to choose from, speaking of KF mods.

And most important - there's no saves. This is very bad, especially since the mod is riddled with bugs. I am really tired of running around the same places over and over again, only to get locked by the bug in the bloody house once again.

So yeah, i guess i'll give this mod a "pass". At least, for now.

im stuck at the house where you get the mp5 inside. it says i need to turn off the electricity.behind the house it says i must turn all off.
so i turned off on the road the injected "fuse" and also turned off the electricity right at the start left side..all stays the same.

You need to shoot and destroy the fuse box in the basement of the house.
