The Great War mod is a total conversion modification for Napoleon: Total War. It creates an authentic representation of World War 1-era tactics, strategies and general warfare within the game. Including stunning new visuals that include entirely new models and textures for equipment, vehicles and more, the mod immerses you into the era with brand new gameplay unlike anything you've experienced in Total War before.
Are we going to be content with just Russian Imperial infantry? Of course not, comrades!

For me too. I slaughter these red rats to thousands. Btter dead then red!
HURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! TOVARISH!
Are their hats supposed to look like that? I always thought that the Bolsheviks used Pilotkas throughout their history.
It's the budenovka, the iconic headgear of the Red Army during the Russian civil war.
Long live our Great Marshal S. M. Budjonny ^^
Thanks. Today I learned.
You could learn more id you'd play this one Internetwars.ru
Respect for the budynovka! that nice little hat served from 1919 to 1942 as the Soviet standard, and popped up afterward too! long live that fine little hat.
Will these be a part of the russian army or will they be rebels?
and did reds fight on WW1?
@swelund: these will be the "rebels", e.g. the "Reds" of Russian Civil War fame.
@muratozcan94: the Russian Civil War took place after World War I, but Total War is about changing history. When you cause a rebellion within your nation, you are given the choice of siding with either the loyalists or rebels (this is a vanilla mechanic). As the rebels, you fight a short war to conquer the capital and regain control of the country. In TGW, this translates into having a short Russian Civil War followed by the early establishment of the Soviet Union.
That is so logical. What do you think about Turkish independence war?I think it can be included, too. At least,as a new and small campaign. Its wars look good, because the wars were generally on hills. I think you can love it.
Turkish Independence? no such thing and are you talking about European or Slavic countries conquered by Ottomans? if so then most logically they will revolt once the Ottoman Empire has been abolished which is after World War 1.
No I mean Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's revolt against British,Greek,Italian and French occupation in Anatolia which happened between 1918-1922.
This historical situation won't be easy to put in... But as Ottoman Empire starts as an absolute monarchy, a revolution in their capital could appear, the rebels being the kemalist insurgents...
Nice!
Well, nice but why are they in the winter uniforms of post revolutionary era? Plus the uniform didn't differ that much from the imperial one 'coz basicly it was the same uniform and the same army gone rogue))
What about Mosin-Nagant M91s? :3
Anything about the white russians?
why do they have Lee Enfields? and not Mosin Nagants?
What gets me is they have a .303 British Lee Enfield. The russian army used the mosin nagant M91/30 which was invented in 1891 and used until this day.
Correction on your part, they would have been using the M1891 Mosin.. The M91/30 is a slightly different rifle developed in the 30's, and to note, the differences are quite obvious. The M1891 Was a much larger rifle, as the M91/30 was a modern design developed from a dragoon/carbine model of the M1891 this made it 9" shorter in length. The sights where also extremely different. the M1891 was also very bulky and jammed easily.
