Your small boat capsizes leaving you stranded on an island with a connection to your past. Pressing forward you must explore and find out what horrors lie sleeping in the unknown....
"The dismal drum of Huichilobos sounded again, accompanied by conches, horns, and trumpet-like instruments. It was a terrifying sound, and when we looked at the tall temple-pyramid from which it came we saw our comrades who had been captured being dragged up the steps to be sacrificed. When they had hauled them up to a small platform in front of the shrine where they kept their accursed, evil deities and idols we saw them put strange crowns on the heads of many of them; and then they made them dance with in a strange hypnotic trance in front of their god of malevolence. Then after they had danced their dance of death, the priests laid them down on their backs on some narrow stones of sacrifice and, cutting open their chests, drew out their palpitating hearts which they offered to the perverted gods before them. After which they kicked the bodies down the steps, and the butchers who were waiting below cut off their arms and legs and flayed their faces, which they afterwards prepared like glove leather, with their beards on, and kept for their drunken festivals and lavish feasts. Then they ate their flesh with a with a freakish amount of relish, which made me look away and several of the men vomitted before the gory display."

You will find the remnants of the cultures that worshiped Cthulhu at one point, in the form of documents, writings, structures and more. The pyramid where the men were sacrificed will be an area in the map.
