"THAT" is a single player source mod that runs on the 2007 SDK engine. It is more of an art installation than it is an actual game, it is my also one of my personal endeavors to push the "games as art" movement which I strongly believe in. The game features abstract surreal scenery and doesn't really contain an objective, it is more of a game to relax to and explore. The game is set in a grid of 9 maps, starting in the center (5th map). You can travel between the maps at your own leisure. I hope you enjoy it and that it encourages game designers to think outside the box when it comes to creating games.

So I enjoyed working on "THAT" so much, I had to push the concept further.
I started using the UNITY engine this time, I feel it gives me a lot more creative liberty since I can actually get models to work in there, as opposed to working with nothing but blocky brushes.
The abstract look will not only carry over but it will evolve, breathing life to an even more intense experience.
You can follow development on the blog:
I'm in the process of getting a kickstarter page for it ready, I will announce it's launch on the blog.

This was a lovely experience, glad I came back to it after a quick first look and explored all the spaces + found the cubes. Hoped I'd be able to get back on top of the centre spiral afterwards!
The music seemed to have echos of the soundtrack to Ink, have you seen it? Imdb.com
I enjoyed it. At first I had no idea what I was doing, but was engrossed in wandering through the scenery. As I explored the city area I stumbled across some people praying to a cube, and the cube was musical. After this I started to notice more cubes hidden in the environments, and I retraced some of my steps to find ones that I had passed before.
This mod achieved so much without words. It made me FEEL something, which so many wordy games fail to do.
I found all the cubes, but I never worked out what they were for.

Voted.
Thank you for this short but amazingly beautiful trip! I really had fun finding the cubes and just looking around! Nice work!
It also reminds me of LSD for playstation.
Excellent design, love to see artistic stuff like this goes on ModDB!
Not sure if what just happened was a bug, but when I was on the space map (unsure of what number, sorry) there was an antilion on one of the planets and one at the very bottom of the map. They weren't there the first time I entered it, but were there the second time. Is this intentional?
oh no I haven't experienced these bugs but I've had two people show me. I can make a safe assumption that the info_landmarks are taking NPCs along?
I'm not sure how I can filter out anything but the player and global states during map change. I'll look into it, thanks for the info!
