Tellurian is a mod for Impossible Creatures which we hope will: 1). Balance IC, so that as many stock creatures are as useful as possible. 2). Fill out the IC genetic library with new, interesting stock creatures that are useful without being overpowered. 3). Provide a whole new experience without sacrificing the fundamental feel of IC. 4). Introduce modelling and modding techniques which have never before been available to anyone besides the Impossible Creatures developers themselves. 5). Be continually updated, and improved, so that no creatures remain overpowered or "abused" for long. It is important to note that we're striving for professionalism, here. That means proper science-y creature bios and mostly sensible abilities-- though some sacrifices have to be made in the name of balance.

Description

Balance patch for version 2.01. A changelog is included. 2.01 not required.

Which program you used to create this mod?

A program called gmax was used to build and animate the creature models. Maps were made with the Impossible Creatures Mission Editor. Almost everything else was done via changes to the game's various .LUA files, which can be opened in Notepad.

I made the installer with ClickTeam Install Creator.

So I have installed the mod, and now about half of the animals in the combiner are named incorrectly (either another animals name or an animals description as its name). figure this might be a known bug but I'm unsure.

Otherwise though everything is working fantastically I am loving the mod.

Sounds like modtext.dll didn't install correctly. Ensure that there's a Tellurian folder inside of Impossible Creatures\Locale\English and that it contains the aforementioned modtext.dll file.

Yup, not sure what I did, but after a couple reinstalls its working. Glad to know it was user error.

Thanks again, this mod is bringing a lot of new life to the series for me.

Run the installer. When it asks you where you want to install the mod, point the installer to Steam\SteamApps\common\Impossible Creatures.

Most likely it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Impossible Creatures.

I also have IC on steam, I've tried installing tellurian multiple times and it won't show up in game. I've installed to Steam\steamapps\common\Impossible Creatures. The data, text files, and module all seem to be in the right place so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Appreciate the help!

What happens when you install it somewhere else and copy it to the Steam IC folder?

Unfortunately it yields the same results. When I do install directly to the folder it automatically puts everything in what looks like the right place, but one thing I want to check is it within the base IC folder it creates a "tellurian" folder which contains the "data" folder and "attrcombiner.lua", is that correct?

Yes.

To clarify, you have:

-The main Tellurian folder
-Tellurian.dll
-Tellurian.module
-Locale\english\Tellurian\modtext.dll

Correct?

Whoops, didn't know you replied. Was waiting for an email notification. Apparently all the file didn't download when I first tried because I didn't have Tellurian.dll. Just now I redownloaded everything and its working great! Thanks for the responses, can't wait to play with the new creatures!

Just FYI, that campaign download doesn't add anything new, since it seems like that's what you're asking. Lots of people were asking about playing the campaign in Tellurian, so I just uploaded a version of the vanilla campaign for people to easily install to Tel.

Installez les fichiers à Steam\SteamApps\common\Impossible Creatures. Ai-je bien compris?

Je suis désolé si mon français est mauvais. J'utilise Google Traduction.
