Its a system used to sort off episodes and areas like in hl1 : E1A2 = Episode 1 Area 2
Everlasting hallway is everlasting.
That pillar (front right) Looks way to rusty if you compare it to the rest of the metal... also experiment with some embers to give it the whole area a more dense look.
Overal it´s a quite nice scene Keep it up :)
