will this gate satellite have the beam like in the atlantis show ? and is this going to be a planetary bombardment weapon or for destroying ships ? :O

both. And yes, it will have the beam weapon. We are also looking at setting up a charge for it that will be the activation of the gate.

That could even be a defence against it. As soon as it pops into orbit, dial to some backwater planet, like Earth, and lo and behold, you got another shiny bauble in orbit, doing nothing but looking shiny.
