You're literally barking up the wrong tree.
Take your issue up with Petroglyph for releasing the patches for the game only on Steam.
It isn't anything any mod creator can do something about.

Most likely there will be no release for non-steam

We always said we're releasing for steam. We don't know if it will be possible to release for non-steam versions because they alck certain updates without which it simply does not run. We'd have to strip out a ton of features to even get some semblance of stability. i'm going to see what I can do, but there's no promises and the end result is likely to not be anywhere near as stable as Steam. There's nothing we can do about that, it's a difference in the game itself from the official patches. Just get the steam version.

With all understanding for the frustration of having no longer a mod for the original disc version it has to become common knowledge that the more detailed and the more features a mod has the less probable it is that said mod can still run with the original disc version.
The only thing you'll get is an unstable mess that crashes every 30 minutes at best and no functioning save games anymore.
As someone who owns both the original disc version and (since April 2019) the steam version is that for most of the modern mods and newest versions of older mods the disc version is simply not compatible anymore.
It doesn't work, I've tried it. Disc version means more frustration than gaming fun.

I've had very few stability issues with GoG, provided the 4GB Patch is installed. Disk is obviously going to be a lot less stable owing to both the lack of a 4GB Patch and possibly the physical condition of the disk. But regardless, I hope to see a version of this mod that at least lets non-Steam users play.

It's disappointing that Petroglyph still hasn't patched at least GoG and Origin. There can't be that many differences between the .exes source code-wise. People are wasting money merely by buying the game in the wrong place the first time.

The reason you've had few problems is because people didn't release versions of mods that didn't work with those. Before the patches were released for steam, mods spent months trying to figure out what was happening and why saves wouldn't load. Then the Steam patches came out and GoG/Disk stopped being supported by most mods.

This mod and Awakening of the Rebellion are the only two here that currently don't support GoG/Disk as far as I'm aware.

Big mods like i.e. Phoenix Rising or Battlefront Commander are almost unplayable with the Disc version for longer periods and you have more save game crashes than ever. Even the most recent version of Republic at War gets problems on big GCs.
I had both the disc version and Steam running all those mods and each and everyone has problems on the disc version even with the 4GB patch installed.

Will you add more units like the Nimbus Commando from the Nationalist Army of Jabiim?
