AT-OT - late era walker for Republic, works as spawner - can spawn infantry in tactical battles.
Model is based on AT-OT Walker in Star Wars: Galactic Defense.

Reminds me of that walking train thing from the Metal Slug games. Good modelwork, looks very well legged
uh... I don't mean to be that guy here but the whole point of the AT-OT is that its open-topped. Its name is literally the All-Terrain Open Transport. The Galactic Defense guys clearly didn't do their research. This one should be something like the AT-ET or enclosed transport.
There's no way to dynamically add and remove troops to the model according to the mod devs, so they just covered it up.
I would have rather it had just been static empty tbh
I mean what purpose would having it be open topped serve anyway? Just makes the guys inside vulnerable to air attack and sniper fire.
It also greatly increases visibility to threats as well as dismount speed. There's plenty of real-life examples of troop transports that are open topped. Before the prevalence of airburst artillery they were pretty standard (and airburst artillery, and artillery in general, doesn't seem especially prevalent in the Star Wars universe, so...).
But making any artistic decisions regarding something that's already tactically absurd (an 8-legged war mech) on real life minutia is silly anyway. It's whatever looks cooler.
The covered version is actually based on a canon design element, so we just used that version.
Time to rename it to All-Terrain Closed Transport, "problem" solved
Its a deliberate choice to make more sense in EaW.
Closed-top version for closer-to-combat use in EaW's tactical battles as opposed to the open-top backline logistics vehicle and transport.
Is it possible to make this a kind of walking bunker? It's name says "open transport" (model aside) all the troops inside it would need to do is simply step up on their seats and they could shoot out. So is it possible to make this so any infantry inside could shoot out? Thank you all for all the amazing work you all do in this mod.
Republic not really needs another transport, there's already AT-TE, UT-AT, LAAT, A5, A6
Mobile units with bunker-style fire points also doesn't particularly work in EaW, be that the bunker aspect and just general transport gimpiness. Like most forces of corruption additions it's somewhat of a buggy mess that gets by from lack of flexibility.

Why does it even have 8 legs? 4 or 6 would have been enough.
