Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
This freshly re-textured mesh is what will serve as the Sacheen class in the Star Wars: Interregnum mod for Sins of Solar Empire. Some of you will no doubt recognize it as (or inspired by) the Nebulon-C by AdamKop. We've decided to not use it as a Neb C as it doesn't really bear any family resemblance to the Nebulon B but does bear some resemblance to the basic scetch of the Sacheen.
Update: Added missing New Republic logo.
the amount of content you guys are producing is insane
ikr it's awesome
I REALLY love the white and red colouring of the New Republic ships, they'll make a lovely contrast to the other races / factions for screenshots :D
I should mention then that the white on most of them (the K-Wing is an exception) is actually set up as a semi-metallic alloy type material. Metallics, by nature, tend not to keep their under light. It is very white in these renders because there is a strong white light element in the ambient lighting. In-game, under a space skybox, it's going to take on more coloring from the ambient and look a bit different. I haven't actually tested on in Sins yet, but expect some sort of light gray/ambient mixed look when not directly lit by a star.
so when one side is lit by the star it will look white but when its not directly getting hit it will have a light gray color? either way they still look very beutiful :)
It's basically going to be primarily the light color, but since it's not fully metallic it will be tinted a bit by the native white color too. So a star is mostly bright white/yellow light in Sins so that's going to be the resulting color. Not directly lit is going to be the color of the skybox, with some extra white mixed in. It's not going to totally lose its color as it's not a pure metallic though.
You can see the effect already on the in-game shot of the Viscount. It's also not a pure metallic but you can see on the dark side that it's color is dominantly that of the skybox, not it's native gray/brown hues.
k thx you guys are awesome :)
Oh I get it'll take on the skybox colour and have a more metallic sheen to it than the screenshots. However it'll still look awesome I bet. These ships all look great :)
Looking sexy! Need to bring me in as a Beta tester, I think... Pass on to Goa. :D Lol!
A real beauty!
that looks so nice for star fighter Damn
Thanks, but it's the light frigate actually.
the beta update is gonna be noice :)
so the nebula's will be like the new republics imperial 2 while the republic destroyer will be a match against the victory class star destroyer? also are these frigates that there specialty is killing fighters?
These are "light" frigates. Traditionally that role is good against heavy targets, no fighters. That doesn't mean they'll necessarily be pigeon-holed to that but I couldn't say at this point. Also, most likely not going to be my pig, not my farm.
Hello there! I wanted to 3D print this beautiful model for personal entertainment and not for commercial use. None of the 3DMAX import tools I found worked. Can you send me an import tool or directly send me the model of Sacheen level escort?
