this ship is the only reason I do not play as thrawn, as much as I LOVE thrawn, the fact that this is his titan makes my blood boil. first isn't this Daala's ship?

second, it's so black in the non sky style skybox I can't even admire it.

together, those lore posts explain how it is that Thrawn got a hold of the Night Hammer. As for Daala, in Interregnum's timeline she's had no reason to know that the Emperor has been killed. She's still in command of the Maw installation and oblivious to the happenings in the rest of the galaxy.

Ahobgoblin has linked the lore explanation of how Thrawn got the Night Hammer. The gameplay reasons were as follows.

1. Thrawn's faction needed a titan, since Thrawn himself never commanded a Star Dreadnaught.

2. In Legends, this ship (I'll call it the Knight Hammer as opposed to the Night Hammer in this mod) only had 'Stealth Armor', which I guess reduced its detectability by sensors. There is no good way to do this in the Sins engine though, so a proper cloaking device was the only way to give it a stealth component. Thrawn just so happens to be well known for using cloaking devices.

3. The Warlords in this mod are based on the Empire from the Battle of Endor to Daala's reunification of the Empire, basically 4 ABY-12 ABY. Daala is most well known for ending the Warlord period and creating the reunified Imperial Remnant, so it really wouldn't make sense to have her in the Warlords faction. If anything, she would probably have stayed loyal to Darth Vader's Empire as the true successor. So she would not be using this ship.

but did it have to be pitch black? I mean it's so black I can't make out most of the outlines of the hull itself.

There is no official image of the ship, but it is said to be pitch black so that it visually blends in with the darkness of space. So that's the point really. :p

There are a few skyboxes that make this thing stick out like a sore thumb. I almost exclusively play as warlords and use thrawn, and i always make sure im using a skybox where i can see the thing.
