Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Is it possible to make it spread more or less accordingly to the power of the received projectile ? For example the shield would spread more for a missile shot by a Titan than from a little corvette, because it has more firepower ^^

Probably not, though if it was possible it would also cause a bigger performance hit than just having the regular shields.

If it is, I don't know how to do it. :p As far as I can tell, the shield shader doesn't get told how much damage was done.

I love the belator....but I wish the model you had in the game wasn't so low res in textures. Is it just a temporary thing right now? or is something wrong with my system?

There are plans for a better looking one. Just not a priority right now since we're focusing on the New Republic.

Description

A quick update on the shield effects shown in the latest developer journal. I managed to tweak the effect so that it now only spreads a short distance from the point of impact. It should be hard to make out the "bubble" even on larger ships unless they are taking a wall of fire.

Also I forgot a quick example of how this effect looks like on some larger units. These shield outlines have actually been in the mod for a while, they were just told not to render.
