Will this mod be modded over the hardcode limit? Like that other SW mod for SOASE? Because that was wreaking havoc on my GPU. Or will this remain fairly light?

I'm not sure what hardcode limit you're referring to. No mods can get past hardcode limits. However, in general, we're trying to make our stuff as optimized as possible, and we're pretty happy with where we're at so far.

Well I'm not sure how to explain it since I'm no expert in modding, but the Sins of a Galactic Empire mod kinda messed up the game, making sure it runs really slow in late-game, often to the point where the game crashes due to having far too many ships in play. What I'm wondering is if you took steps to prevent this.

OMG.... turn down your graphics or play with small fleets. That's not hard-coding that's your PC not being good enough to run several thousand units at once all while simulating realtime combat.

I turned the graphics down to the lowest setting, and "play with a small fleet" is all fun and nice and all, unless your opponent fields thousands of units, which you cannot control. Also "My pc not being good enough" I built it SPECIFICALLY for these kinds of games, it's about as high-end as high-end gets.

My specs are 3 Geforce GTX 780 Ti in a 3-Way SLI and the fastest consumer CPU from Intel, the Core i7-4960X. With 32GB of RAM and a 5TB SSD. I spent more than 5000 bucks on that.

Maybe you'll want to think a little before commenting.

I don't need to think, strategy games will use up ALOT of resources on your PC for a number of reasons, the main one being the amount of stuff being rendered at once(That's a wholllllle lotta polies).

You may be able to play a bunch of games in ultra-omgthisissorealistic settings but trying to both render and control what a few hundred thousand units are doing at once is incredibly hard to do for most PC's.

My PC is no where near as good as yours and can perfectly run several sins mods including the Sins of a Galactic Empire mod on high quality and low quality with tons of units.

I had a resource manager open on my other screen, which showed me exactly how much SOASE was using, and it was nowhere near the limit of what my PC could do, so I drew the conclusion that it was the sins engine itself that reached it's limit, especially because I can play any other given strategy game perfectly. Let's take Rome 2 for example, it's a new game with some serious graphics and calculations to make. A real heavy-weight game. I can play with the max amount of units on the field (I believe that's about 80.000 units) at ultra settings with even more graphic enhancing mods and modded units, like the Legions of Rome mod, without even the slightest slow-down. But sins starts to slow down and hamper when I have slightly more than 100 ships and 1000 fighters in 1 gravity well. So it'd be strange for my PC being able to handle so much from Rome 2, and so little from SOASE.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Rome 2 has waaaaay more polygons than SOASE. Therefore it's easy to deduct that it's a mod or game problem, rather than my hardware not being good enough.

If that's the case i'm going to assume it's your problem and that you should download the Large address aware that allows sins to use higher amounts of RAM Techpowerup.com

Ah, yeah. I can't comment too much on direct comparisons with any other mods, however we're putting a lot of effort into optimization of 3D models and textures to reduce poly counts and file sizes, as well as taking any actions we can to reduce the load on any other aspects. It won't be perfect on launch, but it's something we're gonna pay really close attention to and do our best to optimize.

32 bit buddy. It hits that 2gig and starts frying, unless you include LAA. Even then that only adds a limited amount more RAM into play. you could have a terabyte of Ram, and it wouldn't help sadly.
Make sure you have the squad size redux in play too which will help.

I do have squad size redux, but apparently 1000+ fighters/bombers take a serious toll on the limitations.

This mod is going to be great. So glad to see your taking unconventional approaches to many issues. Keep it up and cant wait to play. :)

I recommend making the video, then make a script or outline of what you say and add voice to it afterwards. It will help with making videos go smoother and you can get a lot more done especially if you put a bunch of different scenes of the same thing togfether
