From the makers of Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War, Ascendancy is a Star Wars mod set after the Battle of Endor in the Star Wars Galaxy. Fight for galactic ascendancy as multiple factions from this period in Star Wars history.
The fourth New Republic fighter. We won't be posting the E and K-Wing in this series, since we're still working on optimization for them.
This light, sleek interceptor was developed by Victory-Class Star Destroyer designer Walex Blissex on the request of Jan Dodonna after the Battle of Yavin, when the Alliance realised the anger posed by TIE Fighters. It was the fastest fighteer in the Alliance arsenal, and became popular as a quick-strike craft. Although it was slowly replaced by other fighters, such as the E-Wing, it was still used as late as the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Yay! One of My favorites!
Also, with forward mounted fuel cells, as realized by the ill fated SSD Executor.
I've always liked the A-wing. Lovely model! Rovert showed me a few screens of the Alpha, and I'm very impressed. Gave me some tingles.
That's cheating.

Yeah.. this fighter is like the F-14 tomcat of the modern age.It lasted far past the Vong War. This is by far my Favorite fighter It lasted long than it was intended too and every pilot that flew her fell in love with her speed and Maneuverability, and to top off only the best could fly it because of the lack of an Astromech droid
Still , an Avenger TIE is better
The Avenger is better as a fighter.. but the avenger had trouble hitting the A-Wing because most of the A-wing pilots were Vets.. :P and understood how to engage targets that were far Superior than it
X-Wing still better :)
Yes.. I can see why the rebellion choose to use Hit and Run on such angry Tie fighters.
The A-wing did not have to do hit and run on Tie Fighters.. It could out Maneuver them any time of the day.. They had very Few of the A-Wings at the time and most pilots were still getting the hang of how damn Maneuverable and fast it was.. Plus if you look at it a Rebel or NR Fighter pilot never faced a couple ties.. They faced Hundreds of ties at a time.. Because of there Mass Production.. same for the TIE/IN Interceptor They could out Maneuver the A-wing but the A-Wing could still out run it.. There for it would use it's Missiles and Superior Firepower to take a TIE/IN down. When it came down to it.. I personal would rather do hit and run and lose a few then try a Straight up conventional battle and lose everything.. Facing an enemy that can Withstand losses forever in a Conventional battle and you know you can't is pretty much telling you already the only action you can take. That is where hit and fade tactics came into play.. Even after the Battle of Endor.. the NR for a while could not deploy enough forces to even attempt to Compete in Conventional Warfare with the Empire.
I was referring to the description, "when the Alliance realised the anger posed by TIE Fighters."
