It's the end of the 23rd century, and with it comes a new era of cooperation between long time adversaries the Federation and Klingon Empire. Praxis the moon of Qo'Nos, homeworld of the Klingon people, explodes in an industrial accident. With it's loss Qo'Nos is massively affected and an estimated 50 years of life is estimated for the planet, the heart of the Klingon Empire is dying. Gorkon the then Chancellor and leader of the Klingon Empire, understands that to survive the Empire can no longer stay in a state of cold war with the Federation, and so extends peace offerings to the Federation. But not all are happy with the new found friendship and peace that was given birth at the Khitomer Conference. Both from outside and within, there is dissension, forces unhappy with the shift of power within the quadrant.

Description

Here is a design of my own the Excalibur. A bit of history behind this one. I was originally going to use the Lexington class from KA, but found the design didn't work so instead I decided to design my own. I still wanted the blend of Constitution and Excelsior technology and so this is what I came up with.

In-verse class history:

The Excalibur, which was named after the ill-fated Constitution class damaged beyond repair in 2267 by the M5 computer, was one of two prototypes design for the great transwarp experiment. However being the more conservative design, utilizing more established technology, and the smaller of the two classes lost out. Eventually Admiral Wesley of Starfleet tactical saw the potiental of the class and was able to get the Excalibur refitted. Re-purposed into a dedicated command cruiser for smaller fleets and taskforces, a role it was ideally suited for due to being smaller and more lightly armed compared to the Excelsior.

Model, textures and design by me, Majestic.
