Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
A small file containing a hotfix for some glaring omissions and errors that made it into version 1.0. More to follow as we receive more reports.Most critically this fixes the Scimitar being impervious and some other small graphical issues (for example some of the pirate ship iconography missing and Romulan heroes' pictures not showing up correctly). Also contained are some further upgrades to the descriptions of Federation ships and research. Klingons and Romulans to follow.
Can you still load previously saved games when this is installed?
You should be able to yes. they're very minor changes.

you need winrar or someother extractor that supports 7z files primarly 7zip since it's free and their file type
when will we see the dominion in the game
how about species 8472 they would be hard for the borg
1 species 8472 ship could take out a cube with easy, imagine what it would do to a federation fleet... They would be unstoppable and make the game impossible. Maybe as a random event but even then it would need to be much weaker than the shows made out (unless Voyager is around that is).
The federation have the technology to destroy species 8472 ships.
In Armada 2 one of the Cardassian ships had an ability which brought forth an 8472 ship through some space-rift-thing to attack their enemies. Except - and I'm not 100% sure - they actually attacked everyone, so it was a bit of a gamble to do so. Something similar could be another way of including 8472 while also giving a ship a unique ability.
It needn't be super-powerful though. The Cube in the game isn't the be-all and end-all.
not really look at what the ship did its first shot on voyager didn't one shot it it would take 2 or 3 shots to kill a intrepid class then it would make a couple of shots to kill anything else and aslong as they where in small numbers they wouldn't win vs a fleet
It wasn't until a lone federation ship with what was quickly becoming antiquated technology, came up with a bio-weapon that could destroy species 8472, did the borg have any clue how to defeat them. Every race has their strengths and weaknesses, you just have to balance it correctly.

Unless I'm missing something I still have the same problem with Federation diplomatic research being broken.
I notice that since the patch I can get cease fires with the other factions - do the unavailable researches unlock when my rep is high enough (presumably 9+)?
you require an alliance with the faction and the pact actually activated with them, not just researched.
Checked and it works as intended.

Is there a reason that the Klingon Titan has no abilities, except for self destruct? And that it has the same firepower as a low level cruiser?
It's a suicide ship that can destroy most of the buildings and units in a single gravity well. That's the point of it.

Yip same as it was in armada 2. I used it on a borg fleet and managed it inflict heavy damage, even nearly destroyed a cube with it. So used it the right way can be devastating.
Do the Federation AI still turtle? I asked this earlier. Is there a specific difficulty or set up I need for them to actually leave their star? They still don't seem to research long range jump.
I found 100 spare Steamrunners lying around. Here, take them.
I dunno if this is related, but I have everything up to date, including the hotfix, and properly installed and I was playing as the Borg and couldn't long range jump. The Fed and Klingon AIs could though.

i just noticed that fed phaser turrets shoot about 5% as often as they used too, this didn't by any chance get fixed did it?

Could anyone give me directions as to how to install the hotfix? Thanks.
I love the Mod, but I have no idea how to actually install the hotfix. As far as I could tell, I need to manually place it in a folder, but I'm not sure... Sorry, I'm kind of an amateur with that kind of stuff. If anyone could tell me what I need to do to get the hotfix working, i would appreciate it... I'm dying to destroy the Scimitar!
HOW TO INSTALL THE HOTFIX FOR ALL YOU SCRUBS WHO ARE NEW TO MODDING: (You need an application called winrar installed to do so)Take all the things in the .rar folder you have after downloading (The readme, armada folder, and Large Adress Aware if you need it) And follow this path computer/documents/my games/Ironclad games/ Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion/mods-rebellion 1.82 Once you have made it to that directory, simply take the Hotfix folder (Labeled Star Trek Armada 3) And drop it into your mod folder. If you don't understand anything about what i just said, the previously mentioned <README> file should help....Have fun.
As above, could someone please tell me how to install the hotfix? The full 1.0 version of the mod installed great, but I can't get the hotfix to go in. Both internet explorer and google chrome won't open it like they did the full mod. Anxious to try this out, as I've bought the game specially for the mod, after reading pc gamers review of it. My pc is running windows 8.1 if that's any help. Thanks. Ian

I ran the 64 bit tool and everything thing seemed to work, except a file named 'settings.sav' appeared on my desktop. Was this supposed to save somewhere else?
BTW, My Ironclad games folder was not in my Steam folder. It was in it's own directory.

Somewhat small thing, Intrepid class seem to lose their shield regen after the last 2 shield techs(not sure which specifically did it). Only seems to be the intrepid's
I install the game and the hot fix and everything works great. Then I change to a different mod/vanilla. The problem occurs when I try to load the Armada 3 mod again. It crashes every time i try. The only way I can get it to work again is to uninstall it then re-install Armada 3 and hot fix.
Anyone know why this may be?

you guys notice a game freeze (autosave: off) every hour or so? it goes away after a minute
p.s. i imagine its a memory bug?
I have noticed that the game will freeze every so often. Only lasts around 30 seconds then goes back to normal.
