Geography and the Map

Skyrim is a large region located in the northern part of Tamriel in the Elder Scroll's -game series and this is where the mod will take place in. A cold, mountainous geography of Skyrim is a challenging task to be captured into a any Total War game for game limitation reasons, and it will also make it more of a challenge to have the locations and places of Skyrim carved into a mountain tops on the map in a Medieval II mod. All this in order to make justice to the sheer beauty of Skyrim and balance the map to a Total War game will require great deal of creative design decisions to be taken; one being that the scale of the landmass has been increased and villages and towers have been adapted into a larger settlements in this mod.

Cultures and Loyalty

It is to be said that there will be no religions in the same manner as they were in the vanilla game. Civil War is raging over the lands of Skyrim, and to have this represented in the mod the religioin system from Medieval II has been turned into a loyalty system in this mod, where main players will be either loyal to Stormcloaks, Imperials or to themselves.

Factions can change their loyalty during the game - or be driven to do it by others - but doing this at the wrong time will not only been seen as betraying the others of the same loyalty group but also their own people.


Skyrim is divided between several Holds, and each Hold will represent an indepented main faction in the mod. The list of factions is yet to be finished, so suggestions for factions are appreciated very much. So far these are the planned factions and their loyalty:

Main Factions:
1.Eastmarch (Loyal to Stormcloaks)
2. The Pale (Loyal to Stormcloaks)
3. The Rift (Loyal to Stormcloaks)
4. Winterhold (Loyal to Stormcloaks)

5. Haafingar (Loyal to Imperials)
6. Hjaalmarch (Loyal to Imperials)
7. The Reach (Loyal to Imperials)
8. Falkreath (Loyal to Imperials)

9. Whiterun (Neutral)

10. Forsworn (Loyal to Forsworn)
11. Thalmor
12. Bandits

Orc Strongholds:
13. Dushnikh Yal
14. Narzulbur
15. Mor Khazgur
16. Largashbur

Undead & Evil Cultist

17. Volkihar Clan

Very, very interested in this mod, as (modded, at least) Skyrim is one of my favorite games, at least in setting.

A few questions, if I may?

1) Will the Dragonborn play any role in this? Being such a central part of the civil war, I think that it would be very cool. Even if the Dragonborn isn't a rectruitable unit, I think that it would be interesting to see a timeline of events (such as: Jarl Ulfric killing High King Torygg, Helgen being destroyed*, etc.)

*Perhaps Helgen gets destroyed more along the lines of mid-game instead of at the beginning stages?

2) Will there be creatures such as Giants w/ their Mammoths? I know generally most creatures would probably avoid a moving army, so that's not a big deal to me, but in the Civil War Overhaul mod for Skyrim, the Stormcloaks have wolves and Giants in their armies. The mod developer says he found scrapped files for a quest involving the Dragonborn recruiting Giants for the Stormcloak cause. I think that would be a cool event for one of the Stormcloak factions, I understand if it's balance-breaking or hard to implement.

That's the only questions I have at the moment, very excited about this mod! I wish I could contribute but I have no modding experience! Will be following this.
