Report RSS Wanting opinions on the handling of fighters and bombers.

At the moment, I'm caught in two minds about how to handle fighters and bombers going forth. I need opinions. From you.

Hi all,
My current unit at Uni is pretty boring, so I'm spending more time on the mod - as well as other things - than I should.

So today, after restarting my fighter/bomber revamp for the umpteenth million time, I thought I'd get some opinions from the community.

'Thoughts on 'big guns' vs. small ships':
Who remembers the 'New Damage Table' or whatever it was that I posted some time back?

Well, in that, it was mentioned that I wanted a fighter that was hit by a capital ship grade turbolaser to be obliterated, but the chances of it being hit were going to horrendously low.

Turns out that I can't make those chances low enough that I'm happy with them.

So I'm stuck with 'Do I stop big guns from firing at small ships?', or 'Do I have the damage modifiers back the way they were?'

'Thoughts on fighter furballs':
You know how when you throw a bunch of fighters against another bunch of fighters, they all get tangled up (A 'furball') and spend more time manoeuvring than firing?
As much of a drag as that can be, it's quite a realistic envisioning of how such a fight would take place.
I can't remember which NJO novel mentions it - might be one of the Enemy Lines novels or Destiny's Way - but the basic idea is, as more fighters get involved, each pilot spends more time watching their own tail than targeting the enemy.
It's common sense if you think about it.

I for one don't mind them, but I've got a couple of ideas to try that could lessen their frequency/duration if people don't like them.

While feedback arising from these types of questions has been ok in the past, it'd be really great if there was more.
(Especially of the constructive type; not 'Need more different ships')

If people could fill out this short survey - less than half a dozen questions - it'd be much appreciated.
