Set in Feudal Japan, Samurai Wars is a modification of Savage: the Battle for Newerth, which allows players to take on the role of a Daimyo (commander) and different types of foot soldier.
Building on the strengths of the Savage engine, Samurai Wars provides an alternative and engrossing playing experience with a hugely popular melee content
Samurai Wars is available exclusively on the European CD release of Savage: Battle for Newerth, but US owners can also download the game from this website.
Currently, the mod has no active website, although it can be downloaded from Gamershell.com
The team behind Bushido is proud to announce the release of Samurai Wars, the official add-on for the popular online RTS/FPS hybrid Savage, by s2Games.
Building on the strengths of the Savage engine, Samurai Wars provides an alternative and engrossing playing experience with hugely popular melee content. The game is released in conjunction with the European release of Savage. For those purchasing the European retail box set, Samurai Wars can be found on the CD along with the game. For users outside of Europe, the game is available to ship worldwide with free postage and packing from the link below. For current owners of Savage, Samurai Wars will be available for download shortly.
Here are some screenshots from the game.
What does this mean for Bushido? Well plans have not changed. With the recent news that Half-Life 2 has been delayed once more, this has given us some time to work on other projects (ie Samurai Wars) but Bushido will still be developed for Half-Life 2. In the meantime support will continue to be provided for Samurai Wars.
You can visit the official Samurai Wars website to learn more on the mod by going here, or visit the official Samurai Wars forums by clicking here.
You can buy Savage: The Battle for Newerth, including the exclusive official mod Samurai Wars by going here. As said above, the game is available to ship worldwide with free postage and packing.
Also, there are two new patches also available for all players with Samurai Wars installed. Both are required to play Samurai Wars. Get the patches from the links below:

Good news to all fans of Samurai Wars.
The Newerth Community website will soon release a new Patch of Savage callled XR.
We have completely re-visited Samurai Wars for this new Patch, with the inclusion of shaders support (bump mapping), dozens of bug fixes, and a major improvement of the Tech Tree.

I will add a Samurai Wars XR section to modb in any case.

Where can you download it ??????????
if anyone know just add a comment of the link
I really really wished people played this, such a great underappreciated mod...too bad its multiplayer only
There are no plans on updating Samurai Wars, and I've heard it doesn't work with the new patches anyway, but if anyone is interested I have put up a new Samurai Wars website since the old one has been dead for about 18months. Since I had 0 control over the old one I still wanted to showcase the work so I did my own site for it.
You can view screenshots, some movies, and also download the 0.96 build of it. Like I said before, I don't think it works on anything above 2.00c but I've not checked or tried so assume it doesn't.
Anyway, not big news but doesn't hurt to let people know.

Enjoy.
Hello All,
Screens look nice for this, but I am unable to download or even access jolt.co.uk, apparently they want my IP to be from the UK... which kinda stinks as they apparently are the only ones who host the patches that I need, if someone could provide another mirror or another way to them I would appreciate.
Thanks,
Brett
