Rise of Three Kingdoms is a total conversion mod for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms, with the aim of the mod being to completely recreate the Three Kingdoms Era (190 to 280 CE) as accurate and true to history as possible. The mod features hundreds of historic characters with their own unique biographies and titles, dozens of period accurate armaments, unique mechanics to either usurp the throne and establish your own dynasty or support the restoration of the Han, historic mission trees for the five main factions from the era, and the inclusion of various non-Han peoples such as the Nanman, Xianbei, Nanyue, and Goguryeo.

Report RSS Rise of Three Kingdoms Version 5.3.1 Hotfix

The v5.3.1 Hotfix corrects an issue with a corrupt text file, which made it impossible to load a save in the 194 campaign if, in between the save and attempted load, you even started a 190 campaign. It could also have caused general stability issues in the 194 campaign.

Greetings once again, everyone!

This is just a short announcement about the version 5.3.1 HotFix that I just released. In the v5.3 Update there was some sort of corruption with one of the text files, which made it impossible to load a save in the 194 campaign if, in between the save and attempted load, you even started a 190 campaign. Gigantus and myself managed to track it down and create a clean file with all of the correct content. Since this Hotfix would break any save-games you have, I figured I would also include an update to the 190 campaign, in which a few generic bodyguard units were missing their soldiers. In addition to that, I also added some minor stuff for Goguryeo and a bunch of new quotes and loading screens (thanks to Fahnat!)

This Hotfix is not required, as it will be included in the future v5.4 Update, however if you are having any sort of stability issues in the 194 campaign or want to be able to swap between campaigns and load saves, then I highly suggest downloading and installing this hotfix.

The Version 5.3.1 Hotfix can be downloaded here and has instructions on how to properly install the hotfix (extract .zip contents into main Medieval II Total War folder and allow to overwrite).

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the Rise of Three Kingdoms v4.5 Full Release and RoTK v5.3 Update installed prior to installing this update. This update is NOT save-game compatible (will break saves).

Happy gaming!

... Since I have to include at least 2 images to even put out a message on the homepage of this mod (???), here are two random Three Kingdoms images! Enjoy!
