The goal of Resistance and Liberation is to realistically portray the events and actions taken by the 82nd Airborne during their stay in Normandy. Our initial release will follow the regiments through a campaign that mimics that followed by the men themselves. The campaign will begin with players dropping into Normandy in the early hours of June 6th, with the ultimate objective of capturing the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. From there subsiquent maps will include missions based on other key areas after the D-Day.

Someone once told me good things come to those who wait, or maybe it was just the Guinness adverts; but one thing that is for certain is that the community have been very patient in following the mods progress and giving their continued support. We'd like to thank you for that support and as a sign of our appreciation we'd like to introduce you to two of the classes that will play a major role in Resistance and Liberation; the NCO and the Rifleman.

The NCO plays a key role in RnLs gameplay using his map to navigate his squad to capture objectives and setting the location that they will spawn at; along with his ability to view the shift of the battle he is armed with an SMG and smoke grenade which are unavailable to the Rifleman. As the leader of their squad the NCO is also responsible for deploying the tactics used by his team mates and is paramount to their survival and ability to function in battle as his presence will effect their CE and his use of the map will help him decide which plan of action is best.

The Rifleman is the backbone of the squad providing accurate suppressive fire against enemy positions from a long range with a round that packs a punch. As the main stay of the squad, the Rifleman is always at the fore front of the action, ready to proceed with their NCO's orders and is vital in providing support when capturing objectives and holding positions.
Equipped with a standard issue rifle and bayonet, being either the M1 Garand used by American forces or the K98K used by German forces and a pistol and grenades, he is more suited to long distance combat, where the accuracy and power of his rifle excel compared to the NCO's SMG which is best suited to close quarters combat.

Lastly, no update is complete without some media for you all to drool over, so we'd like to share some shots of Mike's map La Fiere and as a special treat we have 2videos show casing the amazing animations of our very own Ryan Duffy. Enjoy!
