The scourge of Chaos arrived on a new world: Ziongane. This world was very close to the planet Ultramar, home of the great Space Marines chapter, the Ultramarines. The Imperial garrison on Ziongane, the 51st Battalion, were no match for the daemonic forces, and thus evacuated the planet before the Ultramarines arrived. Viewing the situation from their Battle Barge called The Impetus, Admiral Jaenus, along with Inquisitor Vanri, decided that there was only one way to cleanse the world of this taint, and thus the world was decimated in atomic fire. The Imperial populus of Ziongane were then forced to take shelter on the planet of Ultramar for a time until a new planet was found that could be inhabited.
Deep in the Daedalus System, a home for the Zionganeans was found. The planet, Tirea IV. They moved there post-haste, with Admiral Jaenus in lead of the escort. However, this system is far from peaceful, and the new Tirean populus began creating the Emperor's war-machines again, at their newly developed manufactorums.
At the same time, Admiral Jaenus received a distress signal from the Imperial Lunar-Class Cruiser, the Argus. On his approach, no response came from the ship, not even an identity protocol message. Thus, Jaenus sent a boarding squad of Space Marines to investigate.
enegade X 40,000, once Renegade 40,000, was originally a complete modification for C&C Renegade, but after the Beta Release of Renegade X, an Unreal Tournament 3 modification, the mod has changed. Renegade X 40,000 is now a Total Conversion Mod for Renegade X, essentially changing everything in Renegade X to things from Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe, using the Base Destruction game-type offered, as well as other gameplay types created, such as our own mode of DeathMatch, Capture the Flag, and a new, Dawn of War inspired type of Onslaught. The Global Defense Initiative will be changed into the Imperium of Man, and the Brotherhood of Nod will be changed into the forces of Chaos. Many changes are to be made, such as new buildings, a replacement for the lack of need of a harvester, weapons, characters, maps, etc.
Renegade X 40,000 will change the amount of tactics required to defeat your opponents and win the game; you will need to work together as a team and know which unit/vehicle to use in a certain situation. In Ren-X-40k's default "All Out War", we are adding in an element from other games: Strategic Point capture. This is basically a version of Onslaught with outside influences from the Dawn of War series. The Strategic Points may supply the team with their only income, or perhaps a bonus income, depending on the map. It also gives a point of in-battlefield teleportation for infantry. However, you will not need to link up control nodes to gain access to the enemy's base.
The game will also feature the classic "Base Destruction" gameplay provided in C&C Renegade and Renegade X, or Classic All Out War, as Renegade fans call it, but it will be made more difficult. As a result of the different units and themes, strategy will change, so that many more choices can be made as to how to obtain victory. The map and terrain will also add a lot more to the gameplay and tactics, as cover will be more readily obtainable, etc. This will make tactical opportunities a lot more common, as Snipers will be able to pick off infantry a lot more readily, and in maps such as cities and tunnels, Flamethrower troops will be able to have major use in incinerating large groups of infantry but will have an extremely short range, etc.
There is also heavy consideration about a Single Player campaign, however this would likely be released in a later "patch", after the Multiplayer release.
Mainly every part will be forged or taken from 40,000 concepts; IE Buildings from Dawn of War, Locations from Codex: Cityfight, guns directly from the miniatures, and more.

Ah, there we go.
Good day, fine citizens of the Imperium! As you might have seen, Eeevil has been creating quite a few models, and learning how to do so better and better. They're looking good, and will be polished further as he learns more. On the subject of learning, I have some very good news (followed up by some mediocre news) for our fans. Things are finally looking back on track, and it is thus that I am enrolling in a course for an "Advanced Diploma in Professional Game Development (Art)". What this means is that I will (hopefully) begin an intensive, squish-a-year-into-6-months part of a two year (1 and a half for me) course in July for 3D modeling, animating, concept art, texturing, and all things artistic!
But wait, that's just part 1 of the very good news, as my best mate (who has stood by my side since I was 7 years old) is learning how to program at this same school, and will be GLaDOS* to help the team. But wait, there's more! After going to the institute with him to more or less have a tour, I've already found at least 2 willing team members from the course, both being pretty darn good at their work. Lastly, I am allowed to make work for this indie IN CLASS, and be fully marked on it. How awesome!
Now, for the mediocre news. I still have my interview to attend to (which is likely to be a pass as I've already met the teacher and, well, this ModDB page can serve as a lot to pad a resumé) before I am sent a letter of acceptance. The other news is that I will need to defer the course for a year as I am travelling to the UK and living there for around 6-8 months.
Although it may take some time, I think that the worst of the Warp Storms are over, so let's get a rebuildin'! Also, a thanks to all the players who wished us well in the last update.
*said best friend made me do it, he likes Portal far too much to be healthy.
Thought for the Day: A logical argument must be dismissed with absolute conviction!

Hello? Anyone here?
This mod stopped development some time ago.
Are you guys looking for modellers? I can model small object such as dice, cards, sandbags, lights, and i can also copy as same as the other game model, Can see me in C & C Reborn as a modeller. But i don't model tanks, infantry and aircraft coz i don't have the skills yet.
Hmmm. i think after renegade x been release standalone then this 40k warhammer will start working.
But i wonder how is possible to have all kinds of fraction? But basically is about the Imperium of Man and the Orks, Chaos or Eldar
Wonder which one
This mod, and it's logo is weirdly simillar to CnC Renegade X. The total conversion mod for UTIII
hah +1 for irony...wait..your serious...alright long story short, the head/lead of this mod, talked to the guys over at Renegade X, and they where totally okay with sharing the majority of their work, or so goes my understanding of it, and basically the core of Renegade X's gameplay is here, most of its features, etc, just changed to fit the Warhammer 40k Universe.
gosh very nice looking i like that chain saw
chain sword lol
i would prefer to see some in-game shots/videos
on a tech side idoubt you'll be able to animate like that in_game
Sure you can, it's the UDK!
Don't worry about Geodav, he's running another 40k mod based on the UT3/UDK engine, your his competition basically :P
Must be feeling all superior now with the giant shot in the arm his mod got from the BF40k team.
Honestly I support both projects :D two different gameplay styles really, although I kinda favor this one, more of a Renegade/Battlezone Style gameplay fan.
I wouldn't really call them competition per se, as both our games are quite differently set out, although following the 40k universe. We are essentially making our own game version of Warhammer 40k, whereas UT40k is a mod for UT3.
Oh wow, BF40k team? Another 40k mod? Where have I been all this time?
I don't mind competition, if you can call it that.
The more 40k, the merrier!
Actually the BF40k team (or what was left of them after all these years) basically closed down =( They had a hell of a lot of work done however, although it was for the Battlefield 2/Battlefield 2142 Engine. Long story short, and I don't know the details, all of the work they accomplished over the past..oh, 2-3 years, was tossed over at Geodav's UT40k Project.
Oh yes, I remember BF40k. But that's good news! Then those guys wont have to start from scratch.
