Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising is a single-player mod for Mount & Blade Warband 1.158 and higher. The main gameplay features of this mod include Diplomacy 4.2, PBOD .92, and Freelancer 1.51, with several fixes for Freelancer bugs. *** The mod also includes several popular OSP kits and codes, including bridge battles, tavern animations, banking, outposts, recruitment from castles, and the salt mine. *** Various OSP arms and armors have been added to make each of the original factions' troops more distinctive and more varied. Lower-tier troops are armored with light cloth armors, middle-tier troops have thicker cloth or leather armors, and top-tier troops have metal armors. *** The troops trees have been re-done to add skirmisher lines to each faction and to add mounted skirmishers to the Nords, Rhodoks, Sarranids, and Eastern Province. Two new factions have been added.

This was a large battle with troops from several factions, including the Rhodoks, Keltons, and Eastern Province. There were even a few Sarranid and Swadian troops participating.

My battle size is set to 150 since my computer is middling in capability and the LiteCam tends to take a lot of resources to record a vid.

I am working on version 2.0 bit by bit. It is coming along well and I am testing as I go. I implemented the separate troop tree about a month ago and have been testing it out to see how it affects game-play.

As you can imagine, the separation of commoner and professional troop lines has a significant impact on the game, making it more challenging for the player, especially early in the game. It is also more challenging if the player's faction has few towns and castles, as the player will have fewer places to recruit professionals. Having commoner troops is important though, since the archers/crossbowmen, skirmishers, and spearmen all come from villages. The top tier spearman is a solid troop and definitely worth having, even though they can't upgrade past level 20.

I am also working to improve the combat animations, especially the spear animations. I don't like the underhand sword thrust animation that comes with the two-way spear attack that version 1 has so I am trying out alternate spear animations that don't affect the other weapons.

Are you referring to the video? If so, you are right, I wasn't paying much attention to leading my troops as I was just trying to show the combat and narrate at the same time.

Description

This video shows a battle in my work in progress version 2. The main changes so far from ver. 1.11 are the troop trees and recruiting. I have also added a number of new armors and weapons, some OSP and some of my own design.

The sound quality of the video is not very good, but no fault of the game or the mod.
