Don't know if this is a bug or not but when you ask a bard or any other wandering musician like that about the maidens in the kelton kingdoms it just gives the faction leader name. No info on what the maidens personality is.

Does this error occur after looting a village? The only opcode error I have seen is after I loot a village.

Maybe something behind the scenes for villages. It could occur when I save a village from bandits or even visit a village for recruits. I am usually playing a "good guy" so I don't often loot villages. In my current game, I've not looted any villages at all.

Further info. The error seems to occurERRORCODE2 after castle rewards and I've seen it hit around the time the party consumes food in the evening.

I looked into this bit of code and found that it is likely part of the Diplomacy portion of the mod. I haven't made any changes to this coding. It might have to do with whether your faction has a marshall. Also, were you helping a claimant in this game?

I was not helping a claimant. I do believe it is tied to the other kingdoms as the events unfold. Early in the game, there are few if any of these error messages. As the game progresses, they start to pop. You will see them after an award of a fief, as a lord changes sides, as a lord is defeated...stuff like that.

I've played 3 characters. The bug seems to eventually happen. I have not looked closely at it but I wonder if something was missed when you added the new factions? Next time I play, I will note who the combatants are.

Thank you for the info. I am fairly certain I didn't leave out anything when I added the new factions. I will do some more digging into the code to figure out what it is. You are the first player to report this problem. Can you post the relevant lines from the rgl_log.txt file to show what the error is?

One more question- does this error occur only when you are a king of your own faction?

The error occurs whether I am in a faction or not. I've not played as a King. Also, to note, the error has happened much less since 2 factions have been eliminated. Both Saranids and Swadians (shocker!) are out.I'll check my rgl_log file.

Nothing of interest in the rgl_log file. I wonder if the error is peculiar to the fact that I play on LINUX? I mean Python is Python but you never know.

I did recently make some changes to the coding based on a post at the official Warband forums at Taleworlds. The poster addressed the same error that you reported and found a fix for it. I incorporated the fix in the upcoming version so we'll see if that helps with the issue.

So, the AI error is still there for me. Seems to happen when certain lords are defeated or when a village is looted. Nationality does not seem to matter. Specifically an invalid troop ID. It's not a deal breaker and the mod is rock solid and plays very well. I am quite enjoying it!

Darn, I just don't get it. The only time I see this error is when I raid a village. I have yet to see it the way that you have. This is bizarre. Are you using Warband 1.174?

Does this error seem to affect gameplay in any way? I will continue to see if I can find a solution.

I am glad you are enjoying the mod.

I may have found a fix for this problem. I will upload in addons a script for you to test. It should be save-game compatible. Let me know if it works.

The jury is still out. I played a saved game after replacing the scripts file and the bug was still there. I did start a new game on the chance that there was going to be residual effects in the saved game. I have not seen the bug yet but I also have not played more than the intro quest and a bounty quest. More to come as I play this new game through a bit more.

So, after some extensive play time, the bug is still there but not nearly as bad. The error will pop randomly a few times in a row and the stop for a long period of time.

Just noting the name. I wonder if the invalid troop ID is because of this? This is the first one I've come across. As well, I am not certain what my title would be or if it is covered with the noble titles mod.

I was named Heera when I became a mercenary with the Nords. Now I have my own kingdom and retain the title.

Finally, I married an adventurous person but there is no option to have her join the party. Not sure if that functionality was taken out or not.

I am now certain that the previous bug is occurring much less. The AI error messages post very infrequently.

I am glad the one bug is much less an issue. As for the new one, I have no idea what it is or what caused it. I added the noble titles cose about a year ago and have never seen such as error. I will check into it and let you know.

As far as I know, the version of Diplomacy in my mod doesn't permit spouse to join warband.


There was an error in my strings.py that accounts for the title issue in the image you posted. As for the title you should have as a king, I will need to investigate that. I suppose it might take a few game days for the change to register.

I'm on version 4.0. When I declare my own faction, I can't recruit my 'own' troops anymore. In any castle or town I own, whether recruiting professionals, common soldiers or trained archers, it just says "5 *Player Name* volunteer to join your party". When I accept, the party number does increase by 5 but the soldiers don't exist. Tried on multiple saves and multiple different characters. Annoying cause the mod is perfect otherwise but this kinda kills the late game. I tried building a barracks and changing my culture, neither worked. Hopefully anyone reading this has experienced it before.
