I have seen bows(games and tv/movie) that fire normal lasers from them, they dont have 2 be arrows but like cross bows are quite stable. so it would be a good weapon.

Actually, if we go into films and other fictional stuff here, there is a movie where Ninjas use bows with arrows where explosives are planted on. Short ranged but powerful.
