Faction glow colors one more time.
my i aske what the point
There's no point at all, it doesn't even make logical sense. But if you want some, then visual recognition between the factions.
It adds a nice touch, not everything MUST have a reason or porpouse.
So how many people doesn't like it? Now is your chance to say it.
I do like it. nothing special, miscellaneous and have no purpose but I like it.

Yeah that's true. But the fact is, that it's not that optional, see the comment below. It comes with the factions, factions are optional.
I quite like the orange glow, makes the ships look almost like they're antiques, which would go very well with some bare hull / sandy kinda teamcolours
Yes exactly, the orange can be very nice together with certain team colors.
Yeah, why be down on increased options people?, if you don't want Faction colours, just don't select them in the Menu, if you do, Pouk has taken the time and effort to implement them.

... i know this might conflict with the menu option for the people who don't like it but what if the lights are the stripe color of the player. i think it could add a little quality to the game play.
The purpose of the colored glows isn't just to light up the ship like a christmas tree, just because I like pastel colors or something (I don't actually). It's supposed to be constant for each faction. So if you'll see the blue glow on a Hiigaran vessels, you'll know they use Ion weapons. It's there because of the new game mode.
Just to avoid misunderstanding, factions are optional, the glow color aren't, they come with the factions. If you don't select the faction gameplay, you won't see the colors, if you want to play with factions, the colors will be there.
Now why I don't mind this colors at all, while I'm practically not changing almost anything else in the game? (I'm mostly just adding.) Simple. This is a new type of gameplay, new multiplayer mode, like the C&C Generals thing. And for example if you're playing CTF in some FPS, you can see blue guys and red guys running over the map for a worthless flag and the gameplay nor the colors won't appear as weird at all. This is similar, you choose factions (which is not a standard game mode) and you'll see the colors. They will help you to recognize what faction are teams playing for.
Now when we are clear let's talk about it.

I'm all for more options that increase player choice without detracting from game-play and you've done this quite nicely with the Menu Options.

I like the idea. Was considering something myself after seeing adamstrage's thread. However due to the large amount of HODs it adds, I probably won't take it quite so far.
At any rate, very well implemented! The colors really help identifying who you're playing as well as separating the factions visually.
That's true, there's a lot of things to be made for those colors.

I always wanted to customize the hanger color. Will it be done through a color wheel or from pre-made select colors.
