Dow-Host: Red Phoenix Rising is a total conversion of CNC zerohour. The mod aims to deliver a more realistic battlefield experience. Also, this mod will transform Zerohour to a more demanding strategy game while keeping some arcade touches to make the game enjoyable. This mod is not dead. It's just paused until its fate is determined. It's a huge project and I cannot finish it alone however huge efforts were made to bring it to where it is today and I will not let those efforts go in vain.

We need to have a team of interested people working on this mod. A model or a texture donation would help but it does not match the consistency, and quality of artwork produced by a dedicated team.

I would suggest you ask some of the other Zero Hour modders if you could use some of their work as place holders, to speed up the process and show your concept (mod) of the game to entice others to help you realize your mod. The mod community is pretty friendly about helping others out, give credit, and enjoy their help/input. As you can already see some watchers are already offering their models to your cause, releasing your almost done factions for play testing will help fine tune and give you insight as to how enjoya/playa-ble your mod is so that the last two factions can be tweaked faster and implemented into the game. i tried to get help from other modders but no one was as helpful as you described. Anyways, I am ready to merge this mod with any other similar mod, as long as i get to code a separate version cuz this mod is all about a different style of gameplay. However i cant release a beta now cuz i still think the mod needs more work before it can be described as beta. its in alpha stage now.

Hmm... that's disappointing, guess the times have changed or rl has people spread thin on helping others. But I believe the Reborn Mod Moddb.com has been used as a base for several modders and has just been picked up again by the NLS team. Plus there are other mods out there that have been abandoned or completed that could jump start your mod by recycling their material & crediting them. No one stays in modding forever, most are here to one day get in/a team/company and produce commercial games, so no worries, just keep doing what you love doing and others will join you.

its not dead, it will never die.. development is just too slow at the moment. All team members working on this mod usually get a copy of it. There are 2 main reasons for not releasing a beta now:

1- It can be much better and im still working on it in my free time
2- I want more support for this mod before releasing any beta.

when i registered this mod on moddb i wanted people with similar vision to help create a realistic styled near perfect mod which rivals famous RTS games. Given all my activities and my demanding job, I know i cannot achieve what i have in mind alone. It will take years of trial and error and community feedback to reach the level of game i have in mind. Also, I did not register a mod here to own it. I dont mind if the people who work on this mod release several different versions of it on the same mod page. I dont do this for fame, for a career in game development, graphics design or anything of the sort. I mod zerohour out of love for the idea of a great game and all the good feelings that come from playing it. Its a dream i wish to come true.

Description

Due to demanding life circumstances, almost all of our team members suspended work on this mod. Only two members are willing to continue this mod. Therefore development will be extremely slow unless we get support. we really need several texture artists and a 3d modeler to work on the EU and GLA factions. Also we need someone or a group of people who are capable of modeling and animating infantry. Excluding base defenses and infantry, the first three factions (US RUSSIA & CHINA) are almost ready.
