Not sure what you mean. I modeled this from a side photo of a coke can from 1984. This is how it is supposed to look.
This particular coke can model was circulated in 1984 to celebrate the olympics I guess. The olympic logo is the 1980 LA olympics committee logo. Since the map is circa 1985, this is the coke can version we would want to use.
What? The model is made in 3D Studio Max from scratch. All I did was outline the shape to a photograph using a cylinder with height segments.
Then I made a custom texture in photoshop and wrapped it to the mesh.
It is an extremely simple model to do.
The texture is what took time to do.
No. I'm not gonna ask either. Their brand is out in public, it is in the public eye, and so long as I am collecting no profit of any kind, they can deal with it. Hehe
Besides, it is free advertisement and endorsement. They better be happy I chose coke and not pepsi.

Reconstruction of the can in 3D is relatively simple.
The texture however, was some work. Spent a good amount of time, and still have some more work to do.

I bet that you decoded this model from google sketchup.But you atleast add more polygons and better texture then sketchup could :)
