Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
So I'm finally picking up with the custom clones again. But this time, there's a twist to it.
Now, you might notice all the rather oddly perfect lines (Or as perfect as 512x256 can go). That's all thanks to the magic of Substance Painter. With Substance Painter, I can hold down the shift key and create a straight line. No more guess and check with Paint.Net.
Lets all give Nkorn a big thanks for helping me get Substance Painter.
And yes, this means I'll be going back and redoing a few clones textures. Like the standard clone in Doom's Unit.'
Credits:
CWA for the base textures and meshes
Jedi_Clone_X2 for the skeletons and animations
Sergeant Barlex for the rig, reskin, and modified animations
I wonder, if i can use Substance painter on old games like men of war assault squad or so, to paint them diorectly on the 3d model :D
You sure can.
Just import the model as a common format, like obj, 3ds, or fbx. Apply the texture on as a fill layer, and then you can paint away.
Alright, thanks, i'll try that, So substance painter lets you paint over the 3d project, no more 3d uv parts ,
You still need a UV on the model, but texturing and retexturing is a lot easier.
