Interesting. So your take on the Maelstrom asthetics wise is pretty much a massively bulked up version of the Praetor I, including modernizing elements from the Acclamator and Secutor of the Praetor I, While the Praetor II was just a bit bigger with a completely different/original design (which to be fair reminds me more of a giant Acclamator).

Kinda, it's more so a bulked up version of the Acclamator and Venator. The Praetor is the bigger ship, but fills a different role, as does the Secutor.

The Praetor favors armor as opposed to shields, and has many weapon emplacements that are weaker individually when compared to the Maelstrom. The Secutor is the Venator's hangar on steroids, it's lightly armed for a battlecruiser (Although it's called a battlecarrier) and most of it's firepower will come from it's fighters. While the Maelstrom is a bit more balanced between the two, but has a focus on fewer, heavier turbolasers.

I would of thought the Malestrom would work as a Heavy Missile Cruiser sort of like the Broadside-Missile Cruiser for the Empire just Upsized and Upgunned.
And uhm "few heavy weaponry emplacements and concussion missile launchers" if 20 Heavy Trubolaser Batteries, 10 Battleship Ion Cannons, 20 Medium Ion Cannons, 30 Proton Torpedo Launchers, and 10 Quad Assault Concussion Missile Launchers is what you consider "few heavy weaponry emplacements" then i hate to see what you consider "Many Weapon Emplacements"

It can definitely be a missile cruiser if you want, but that's not it's main focus.

The Maelstrom will likely have fewer weapons than the current numbers, but the Praetor is basically the opposite. It favors many lighter weapons (120 ish), while the Maelstrom will favor fewer, stronger weapons (60 to 80 ish). They're both strong ships, but the Maelstrom will win if you compare individual weapons.

The best analogy would be Stellaris. You can either choose the artillery bow for your destroyer and have 1 large weapon, or you can choose the gunship bow and have 2 small and 1 medium weapon. Overall similar firepower, but the large weapon is stronger when compared to one of the small or medium weapons.

90 weapons is still a lot for a Command Ship which the Malestrom-Class was used as.

It's still a battlecruiser, which comes with the armor, weapons, and size. Not sure if I can do anything with the command designation, but I do intend on lowering the weapon numbers somewhat.

CT-2801 "Shadufax" reporting for duty sir Sergeant!
I was playing Empire At War Forces Of Corruption and I noticed that some of the Ships(Most of the big Ships but not the Fighters) have names(Aggressor, Acheron, Aggregator, Allecto, Accuser, Avenger, Agility, Bombard, Dominator, Corrupter, Abolisher, Arrow, Active, Akaga, Aeolus, Alliance, etc) so I was thinking if it would be possible to do that to Infantry Units too? I honestly think it would be cool to have Troopers with names but I'm ok if the answer is no

Edit: Oh and not just the Troopers but the Commanders, Majors, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants and Corporals(Are there Corporals?) too

Oh and what about adding "Generic" Jedis? Just another Idea that if you do cool if you dont then ok I dont have a problem with that either just a suggestion

Possible? Yes. Feasible? not sure. That'd have to be a very, very, very long list to avoid repeats. Thrawn's Revenge: Fall of the Republic does something similar for the companies, but not the infantry iirc.

I'd like to avoid too many jedi, that might get tricky to balance. Maybe as a limited build.

The problem with the names for individual units and their associated files is that they only work properly in skirmish.

In GC they are somehow tied to build queues and ships that are built at the same time. After a batch of ships are done building and you start a week later or so building more of the same ship class the naming starts anew at the top of the list and you get duplicate names.
Meaning for example if you have as names for Acclamators 'Aken, Aldera, Annealer, Anubis, Anvil, Arrestor" and you build 4 Acclamators at the same time they'll get the first four names in the list. If you however build one Acclamator, let it finish and then build another, they will both have 'Aken' as their name.

The ships having names can be a help for immersion and "nerdy" roleplay as well as possibly for long multiplayer skirmish matches but it not functioning properly in GC merits the question if it is worth to implement when you need to edit the GameConstants.xml for it and include a line for every ship class that should get names.

It's a bummer that you can't give custom names to individual ships yourself like you can in the old 4X strategy game Star Wars: Rebellion from the 90's.

CT-2801 reporting for duty sir!
Uh I was wondering... Will Commander Bacara have the same Armor in all Planets? I was wondering because his Legends Page on Wookieepedia has an image of him using a different Armor in a Comic called "To the Vanishing Point" so uh just wondering

Edit: Oh apparently Clone Trooper Wiki has a better image of it Clonetrooper.fandom.com

Those comics are kinda sketchy in regards to their accuracy, so no, he most likely won't use that design.

Sorry for bothering you with all these questions and stupid suggestions but I swear to the Force that these are my last questions!(For now at least): Are there going to be any Heroes for the 38th 187th and 182nd?
Have you ever through about adding Commander Keller for the Galactic Marines?
Also in the Units List it mentions the Galactic Marines as the Hero Legion for the 21st Nova Corps so uh I was wondering what is the difference between them? I mean "Armor-wise"?
Also what about adding Clonetrooper.fandom.com(radio_communications) and Clonetrooper.fandom.com for the Galactic Republic since Jet is in there?

Edit: For some reason the Link for Chatter links to the 182nd Clone instead of the Clone cut from "Landing At Point Rain" so... Well the best I can do is link to the Wookieepedia Page of the 182nd Clone since at least there is a Link in the 182nd Chatter's Page that links to the Comm Officer Chatter Starwars.fandom.com

Edit 2: These are just questions
Again sorry for bothering you sir

Again sorry for bothering you

What are the Anti-Air Tank the Stun Tank the AT-PC and AT-SC mentioned in the Republic Units List?
And who is TF-2729 in the Separatist Units List

Those unit lists are very old, and really need some revisions. Some lesser known legions will likely get cut (IE: 182nd), but those that stay will likely have some amount of heroes. Legions in general need to be tweaked to flow better with how EaW plays.

Keller, and Jet would probably be climate variants for Bacara for simplicities sake.

The different originally was, that the Marines would be akin to the Torrent Company in the 501st, or Ghost Company in the 212th. The named companies would be large companies of heroes similar to other hero units.

I planned of porting my Spec Ops helmet from XCom 2 to EaW, but I'm still looking for a way to fit it in. Most likely as a trooper skin.

The anti air tank, AT-PC, and AT-SC are units from the game Galactic Battlegrounds with names I gave them.

The Stun Tank is from TCW (RX-200).

TF-2279 is a tactical droid from TCW, who will probably be a randomized name for the fleet officer unit.

Description

Measuring in at 3KM, the Maelstrom-class is the love-child of the Acclamator and Venator in battlecruiser form. Unlike it's sister battlecruiser, the Praetor, the Maelstrom carries more fighter squadrons and puts a heavy emphasis on using a few heavy weaponry emplacements and concussion missile launchers as opposed to many light weapons and ion cannons.

Building this was an interesting task, considering it has no official design. Most of it came from EckhartLadder's video, elements from other FractalSponge ships, and my own experimentation. And many thanks go to Beta for his wonderful kitbash set which helped a lot with this, like the Praetor.
