Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
I've been working on a lot of behind the scenes bug fixes, performance boosts, and small graphical updates, but here's something with a bit more substance to it.
I've been playing around with some of the particles, and fighters squadrons, and am quite happy with the result. Removing the particles on the fighter's laser, and reducing the amount of squadrons on the field really helped. But I went one step further, and decided to play around with the actual models.
I present, the new (And this time, hopefully final) models for the V-19 Torrent Fighter, ARC-170, TIE/LN, and TIE/SA. The changes in poly counts are:
TIE/LN and SA: 10k polys -> 4K
ARC-170: 32k polys -> 3k (Not sure how I let this pass, I could have sworn it was 12k)
V-19: 4k -> 2k
And yes, the ARC-170 is the original one Sly did for RA. I decided to switch back as it was a good, low poly ship. The V-19 also got 2 slow firing concussion missile launchers.

I love the v-19, always a favorite fighter of mine.
"ARC-170: 32k polys" Jesus christ lol.
Yep, this was the original version.

Even there I thought it was 12k. 32k is a bit much, even for a capital ship.
I loaded my conversion of dice 's weapon meshes in the swbf 2 engine... 60k poly for the T-21 if i remember well.
Damn. I remember when I was playing with the DLT-19 and TL-50 they were about 30k. I managed to bring them under 10k if I remember correctly.
I don't know what is the limit of EAW's engine but evrything works well with a few other weapons meshes and the stormtroopers models. :)
EaW can handle high poly models easily, and can easily do 4k textures.
From my experience, it's mass amounts of units and particles that drop fps faster than a fruit fly.
