Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.

They will be wearing gas masks in the first part of the game, before the air exchange is destroyed.
depends most human militaries IE the most mobile and capable ones like the US, Russian, Chines, British, French, German, and so on and so forth took a pretty bad beating by the combine during the initial 7 hour war.
Those that survived would have no choice but to make do with what ever they can get their hands on or just jerry rig gear from scrap.
The way he handles the shotgun... No wonder we lost the 7 hours war :D

its a practical way to carry a SPAS-12 on patrol if you have no sling & besides the dam things are pretty heavy you know :P
Actually the practical way to hold it on patrol would be to hold the handle but keep your finger off the trigger so when you need it all you have to do is move your index finger instead of you're whole hand.
again it is a very very heavy gun so please try to imagine moving long distances on foot with a fully loaded 8 round 4.4 kg "9.7 lb" shotgun and how much of a pain that would be endurance wise especially when fully kitted out like this guy is.
