Project RDX is a mod based on the IDTech3 engine. The goal is to make the game more complex, and balanced between the "ol' school" and "realistic" games.

awsome dude, nice to see this game improved, I highly suggest adding perpixel lighting to this engine, there was a mod called tenebrea for quake one, well they made tenebrea 2.0 its compatible with quake3 but needs some work you should really really check it out. it may be hard to find

Berserker, a Russian mod developer, also created an advanced engine, called Berserker@Quake2/3. The Quake 2 version works pretty good and gives great results (altough it's hard to make it compatible with low-end computers), and lately Berserker made another version for Quake 3. I don't know if it's finished and I haven't really seen videos with it, but after searching it's forums they have done pretty much.

Well whether I want it or not, I'll have to fix that MD5 lighting, sooner or later. For some reason, MD3's work fine. Never been able to load a fully working MD4/MDR, so I'll have to delve into the code and find out what's wrong.

I Could, in the future, try to improve the engine's graphics, however remember that graphics come after gameplay in my priority list. Because, well, while better effects are nice, players that value shiny graphics above gameplay wouldn't look at 11+ year old games anyway.

So yeah. That pesky MD5 will be fixed as soon as possible. Per pixel lighting however will have to wait a while unless the process of fixing the MD5 will make it much easier to understand.

I like the way you say "graphics come after gameplay in my priority list". It is exactly what I think! Graphics should not be the reason why a game is made!

That's it, the bone modifiers are working.
That lighting bug is still bugging me, but it's fairly minor and I'll fix it over time. There's also some efficiency updates to do, but they can wait for the moment.
