Our mod's action takes place a few months after the events of the original Deus Ex. The mod assumes that you have chosen Endgame 3. However, MJ12 hasn't been wiped out (FEMA Director of Security Aston Greer, who belonged to MJ12, is alive and became MJ12's leader after Page's death) and is still powerful. They control some of the world. The Illuminati also control some of the world. JC does not belong to the Illuminati, he just cooperates with them. In Power&Love, JC, of course, will be acting against MJ12 in order to bring them down.
