A small blog on progress that have been made recently and the work that still needs to be done.

Hello, It's been almost a month since our last newspost, and now we are actually in January 2012! This month we plan to release Portal Stories: Mel. We made some real progress since the last update, and quite a few of our maps are (almost) done.

At the moment I'm working on three levels:
1) sp_mel_destroyed: This map was created by Rufus, I did some gameplay tweaks, some bugfixing and made the map a bit harder here and there. This map is now done, a few people have playtested it, now I'm fixing some bugs, graphical glitches etc. When our playtesters find new bugs I fix them as soon as possible.

2) sp_mel_laser playing:
This map was created by Alon. It's a cave Johnson style map. This map will get a puzzle that was originally in the openings map but had to be removed because that map was getting too big and laggy. When this map is done it will contain 4 different areas with 4 different tests. At this moment I'm working on making the map fit in with our other maps. This is a rather slow process, but I hope to have that level finished by the end of the week.

Here a screenshot of the map (note: heavy work in progress!!!)

Because this kind of work is rather boring and we still need another map I'm also working on a brand new level:

3) sp_mel_faithplates
This map is currently heavy WIP: I've only layed out the base structure of a part of the map, I hope that this map will be playable Wednesday, then spent a few more days on fixing the looks and hopefully next week it'll be finished.

But I'm not the only person working on this mod:

Andy and James:
Very busy with other stuff at the moment, but they will record custom audio soon!
Rufus:
Doing a great job on a map that hasn't been shown yet. Also working on something for some kind of surprise...
Alon:
Currently working on another project, won't create any new maps for Portal Stories: Mel but he assured he's returning for Portal Stories: Prototypes and promised us a brand new trailer!

We hope you enjoyed this small blog-thing. We still think we can release the mod this month even though that's still quite a lot work!

Good, but don't hesitate to work some more days on the maps if this is necessary to finish them perfectly, it's not important if your mod is released 2 or 3 days later !
