there are two models to the portalgun. we used the free one. the one not in use. the one made for the left.

I think you gotta remodel the portalgun so its on the right side I believe. I was trying to port CSS weapons into HL2 and I ran into this issue. When Cave was doing CSS2k9, He said he remodeled the view model so its on the right side. Also, you can edit the gameinfo.txt so it reads off the portal_content.gcf file so people will not be getting Portal for free.

well, we fixed the model problem. still, we did want to prevent people from getting portal free, so we'll do that ^^
