Have you ever wanted to roam around in the Half-Life style 2005 Beta of Portal, or maybe fight the Beta GLaDOS in the 2006 Beta? Well, look no further! This page will give you free access to both betas! You can download them separate, or Download them both in the Portal Beta Bundle! Once you download a beta (or both betas) Instructions on how to install the betas will be included in the .rar file. You absolutely will need Steam. Portal is required for this to work. Summary of the 2005 Portal Beta: This is the earliest version of Portal. Actually, it mainly uses assets from Half-Life 2. There is no GLaDOS, instead you just escape. You will notice some familiar test chambers in there. These are the early versions of popular test chambers that are still in the game today. Summary of the 2006 Portal Beta: The 2006 Beta is almost exactly like present-day Portal, but with a few differences. For instance, GLaDOS was added in, but she was a floating cube of rollermines from Half-Life 2.

I already found some issues:
Missing textures during the escape in map escape_01
GLaDOS voice lines don't play in map escape_02_d
Too bright in some areas
Anyone else having issues?
The glados voice lines not playing in map escape_02_d is normal. They didn't have that dialog voiced yet. If it is too bright, try this: go to the beta in your steam list, right click on it and open properties, then open launch options, then type in "-dxlevel 90" without the quotation marks, click ok, and then launch the game. It should fix the brightness issue, as well as improving your overall game performance. As for the missing textures, I did not notice that. I will look into it. For everyone that is complaining about missing texture, it is most likely due to a graphics driver issue. I can confirm it because I have the mod on 2 computers. One with an Intel chip (missing textures), and one with a Nvidia chip (No missing textures). So, apparently it only renders correctly on my pc which has the Nvidia chip.

Does anyone have the same iusse?I put the folder into the sourcemod folder in steam,Portal 2006 will not show up.But I also tried the 2005 version that worked.I googled my problem but can't find anything.If you know how to fix it,please tell me how.Thank you.
