This page will give you free access to both betas! You can download them separate, or Download them both in the Portal Beta Bundle! Once you download a beta (or both betas) Instructions on how to install the betas will be included in the .rar file. You absolutely will need Steam. Portal is required for this to work. Summary of the 2005 Portal Beta: This is the earliest version of Portal. Actually, it mainly uses assets from Half-Life 2. There is no GLaDOS, instead you just escape. You will notice some familiar test chambers in there. These are the early versions of popular test chambers that are still in the game today. Summary of the 2006 Portal Beta: The 2006 Beta is almost exactly like present-day Portal, but with a few differences. For instance, GLaDOS was added in, but she was a floating cube of rollermines from Half-Life 2.

The level transitions are broken, how are you supposed to get to different levels? Please fix this.
Try enabling the developer console and type "map (what ever chamber you're about to enter)". There should be a list of maps in a folder where the game is located.

Whenever I start the game it starts but the valve intro is just a bunch of nonsense and then closes when it ends

The timer takes WAYYYY too long before I can actually start playing. Also, when I get in the elevator, the doors open and there's just a wall with nowhere to go.
just type "map (insert map name here)" thats what happens in the beta (and also this is just a sourcemod of the beta)
I don't know the names of the maps though.

did you open Portal 2005 Beta then put in Portal 2005 in to the sourcemods folder?
Does anyone have the same iusse?I put the folder into the sourcemod folder in steam,Portal 2006 will not show up.But I also tried the 2005 version that worked.I googled my problem but can't find anything.If you know how to fix it,please tell me how.Thank you.
