The listening post proved invaluable to the Empire. After the Alliance assault on the world, the Empire fortified it. Despite the relatively simplistic defense system, the base proved very potent, and the legion there very experienced. They dug ditches and made bunkers. And the base became practically impenetrable to ground assault. In the end it had been orbital bombardment, from ships worth millions more than the world itself, that crushed the Empire, who never expected to see such a worthless station come under such a powerful attack. But to the planets' new occupiers, a unique opportunity was presented, one for an impenetrable defense, comprised of both space and land forces, with a shield generator in between them. In the end the planets' strategic position paid off more than it's actual resources, and it was fortified once more, the new forts would stand on the ashes of their predecessors. Upon hearing of it’s fall, and an expert analysis of the situation, the Empire abandoned all plans to retake the world, as it would take to many assets to capture and had much less actual value
