This zip file contains another set of patches for both versions of PD3. It contains many small fixes and also adds a bit to some of the features already in PD3. It is an update to the previous 7.0.1 patch that accidentally removed the ROE logos and effects from the main menu for PD3 ROE. Nothing else was added to either version of PD3. This is just a quick fix.
*Please remove the previous version 7.0.1 patches for both versions of PD3 before installing these patches. You do not need the 7.0.1 patches anymore.*
1. To install for non ROE PD3 place the patch file named "PerfectedDoom3v7.0.2_Patch" in the standard PD3 mod folder.
2. To install for PD3 for ROE place the patch file named "PerfectedDoom3v7.0.2_Patch_ROE" in the PD3 ROE mod folder.
That's it. The patch should engage immediately. If any bugs are found please let me know and further patching will be done to correct anything these patches may cause.
Features included in this patch:
Fixed plasmagun liquid flamethrower bug that distorted the player's view.
Fixed rocket launcher magazine bug not removing rockets properly when fired.
Removed the dof on zoom option from the nextgen options menu and permanently disabled it.
Shotgun, Double Barrel Shotgun, and Chaingun have a chance at gibbing smaller demons and zombies at close range.
Gib count has been increased for the gibbing system and bloodsplat count has been doubled.
Added new body parts for Imps and Zombies when gibbed.
Added new gibbing sound for gibbed monsters.
Increased proximity grenade detection radius and damage rates.
Added the ability to pick up proximity grenades that have not exploded yet even if handgrenade ammo is full.
Removed handgrenade in player head bug during cinematics and when in third person view.
* Removing the "grenade in the player's head" bug has brought on some warnings that will pop up in the console when throwing the standard grenades and the cluster bomb grenades. These are only warnings and will not cause any problems. If I can ever figure out how to get rid of these I will update this patch but for now this is as good as it's gonna get right now. At least that stupid grenade doesn't get stuck in the player's head anymore.
Dude, idk what you did but something has seriously ****** up the windows man. Worked fine in vanilla v7, but now they're just this insane misaligned funhouse mirror.
I've done nothing to the windows. Have they been like that with out the patch? As these new GPU's get updated more and more graphical glitches can be expected. Like with the plasmagun liquid thrower bug. I never had that bug until I upgraded from a GTX960 to a GTX1080ti. The only way I could fix that was by removing one of the effects from the liquid splashing on the floor. Nothing has been done to the windows at all for many versions of PD3.
Yeah sorry for assuming you screwed it up. Upon revisiting the windows are bugged out even without the patch. I'm not sure what I changed since I first got v7 but the patch isn't the problem.
I did try going into the menus and turning off all the effects one by one to find the problem but nothing seems to be fixing it.
Are u an ATI user?
If he is. Rename "Doom3.exe" to "Doom 3.exe" ine spaece works miracles (disables some outdated optimizations for Doom3 never removed from ati drivers).
This mod is fantastic! doom 3 has never felt better. I must ask though, is this mod compatible with redux? Moddb.com
if you have 7zip,you can go through the redux pk3s and pull out the textures

Dude, the AI has a really stupid behavior. And return the old plasma fire sound, or at least another one. The doom 2 plasma sound doesnt fit in this mod. The rest is fine :)
Great stuff. One of my biggest gripes with DooM 3 was always that combat didnĀ“t feel as visceral as in DooM or DooM II; despite it being a far more modern game. So thank you for upping the amount of Blood and gibbage with the patch.

I tried the v7 version with or without the patch and none of it worked... the normal doom 3 works fine
Maybe your 'Normal Doom 3' isn't updated to version 1.3.1. That's why it's giving an ERROR of "WRONG GAME API Version"
'Perfected DOOM 3' MOD needs Doom 3 version 1.3.1 to RUN.
Check you current Doom 3 version by Launching the game and Opening Console by Pressing (`) Key (Above Tab and Left of Numpad 1). Your Current version will be displayed in Bottom-Right Corner of Console Window.

Hey VGames, I think the issue persistent with some users (including me until now) was that on the steam version of regular doom 3 (not bfg) the batch file didn't run because of a "missing doom3.exe". I have an Nvidia card, and it didnt work because of the readme.txt, I think some users opened the "Perfected" folder and decided to paste the content in the Perfected folder in their Doom 3 folder, because the readme.txt says to do exactly that. Anyone having an issue with a missing Doom3.exe error message when trying to launch the .bat file, make sure to paste the "Perfected" FOLDER, after downloading, in the Doom 3 folder instead of taking the contents of the folder and pasting it there. Great mod, and glad to see that you take liberty in staying in touch with your downloaders.
ROE doesn't even work for me it can't load the maps and is it still suppost to say v7.0.0 on the menu? because I definitely put the patches in both mod folders

Is there any way for the flashlight to not phase through stuff? It gets quite annoying, and difficult to use in dark areas.
