Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Very nice looking but, in reality, would never happen (if you can handle the irony for a moment haha).

If the ship took fire on it's missle battery with the missles poking out like that, chances are that the missles would explode causing the destroyer to (again, another drop of irony) destroy itself. This is why it's crucial to have blast doors over the launch tubes. The secondary explosions alone would break the ship in half. Once again, looks great but wouldn't send the thing into battle.

But hey, don't listen too closely to me, I can't mod for ****. Maybe you could do a little animation for launch tube doors?

I know it's completely unrealistic but it's a little detail that makes missiles a little more interesting.

Thing is, using barrel logic, you don't need an animation (and animating every damned launch door would be too much for me). so for now they're staing this way logic be damned (i know I'm usually a nitpicker for realism but it is a game).

Description

While this technique does not work with all ships, the added detail of missiles in their tubes which then disappear when fired should make combat just a little more interesting to watch.

Shown here is the firing sequence on the Vaygr Destroyer Missile Battery. Notice the missiles are in place, disappear and then reappear as the tubes are reloaded.
