Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Great looking background, by the way. I hope the map with that background will be fun to play on, given how nice the background is.

Kind of odd that Turanic technology hasn't changed like Kushan and Kadeshi tech did.

I think it will ;)

oh they have changed! But you'll have to wait a bit until the major changes are presented.
The corvettes are kind of the workhorse of the raiders and are still the same as 150 years ago. think of them kinda like space russians. they use their stuff until it falls appart.

As IPS has said, the Turanics stick to well proven tech for the most part. It's the only stuff they can produce on their own.

Their more advanced and evolved tech requires them to first aquire that technology from their enemies - either through the black market or by capturing and disecting enemy ships.

Never forget that the turanics are and will always be pirates. They don't really do more than tinkering on their own meanig they don't really improve unless their prey does.

Yes, but I'm saying that their prey HAS improved. But I can also see how each individual pirate has a reputation to uphold as well... After all, the good old fighter and corvette chassis would probably be the equivalent to good old muscle cars today.

Actually, have you guys considered making it so that each unit in a squadron has slight texture differences, like each individual custom painted their own ship their own way?

Can't be done - I have thought of it though.

I agree on the tech stuff. I agree the pirates have made advances - and you can see a lot of them. But they're really just using new weapons in their existing chassis. Frigates and capships have got new designs however their fighters and corvettes are much the same as there is little to improve. They're already the fastest and most heavily armored ships of their class in the galaxy - ignoring the keepers that is.

If they're fast and heavily armored, then the balancing is tipped so that their firepower (or accuracy) is poor? Or is it that they have more expensive craft?

Very poor accuracy. 70-90% of their shots go off into nowhere (very funny to watch sometimes). Their ships aren't exactly expensive but they won't be exactly cheap either.

Description

While the Raiders rely on many ships, their primary vessels have always been corvettes. Designed to survive incredible punishment and often go weeks without carrier support, the Turanic Raider's corvettes are the core of any raider fleet.

True to their pirate nature, the Raider Corvettes generally operate alone or in small wolf packs. The traditional 'Thief' and 'Brigand' Corvettes are designed to combat fighters and other corvettes and can capture enemy ships making them a versatile tool in any raider captain's toolbox and essential to building up new technology.

The 'Thief' carries an armament of four heavy guns capable of firing several times per second giving in an extremely high damage output at the raider's low level of accuracy. Best used against corvettes or single frigates.

The 'Brigand' is armed with twenty missile tubes capable of unleashing a barrage of high explosive FLAK or (nicknamed Flee Like A Kat) missiles that will turn any squadron of strike craft away. However these deadly missile swarms can work to the raider's disadvantage and the chance that friendly fighters will be caught in the hail of shrapnel is about as likely as hitting an enemy ship.

Use wisely... or just let them shoot at whatever the hell they want. In the case of the latter, remember to pray!
