Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
For as long as the Raiders have existed, they have based their strike around a simple fighter: The Bandit Interceptor.
Compared to other fighters the bandit is an outdated design however Turanic Technicians maintain these vessels with a vigour not known to many other races. With heavy armor plates welded over the original chassis, engines tuned for high performance and an unusually large nose cannon, the bandit can hold its own against any interceptror and even some larger vessesl.
Expect to see the Bandit wherever the Turanics are fighting. For what it lacks in elegance it makes up in brute efficiency and speed.
Excellent models! Im gonna be watching this mod very closely. I love the nose cannon. Can wait to see the frigs and bombers!
i Dont know why, but i always thought i could hold one of these in the palm of my hand :)
I might remind everyone that according to cannon the Bandit was made of Modules, Therefore it would be a simple task to upgrade the Baandit, All you would need to do is upgrade each individual module to upgrade the whole......
Quote: The Bandit-class Interceptor has the dubious distinction of being the first hostile vessel encountered by the Exiles on their quest for the Homeworld. For a people who actually debated the need for a dedicated strike craft at all, the appearance of this high-speed, heavily armored fighter blazing away with its advanced mass drivers was a rude shock. While little is known about the origins of Raider technology, the abilities of the Bandit appear to be the result of a practical design refined through countless combat situations, as opposed to any exotic material or energy generation. Pirate vessels are based on the simplest application of any technology, combined with armoring each and every internal module to create a ship of very high durability with very low maintenance costs.
While not particularly known for their innovative thinking, the Turanic Raiders have managed to keep the Bandit on par with the Taiidani Heavy Interceptor and the Hiigaran Blade Fighter, and it is still as formidable an opponent now as it was 15 years ago.
From the HW:Cataclysm manual....
it seems that you are trying to describe this: Shipyards.relicnews.com
PS. yea i know that is the bandit too, but this one as a roll cage :D
Yeah... I believe that the "modules" described there indicate internal systems of the fighter... not the kind of modules that you can build on the BC or SY. The Bandit is made up of "modules" just like all the other races interceptors, and as any piece of machinery, really. You couldn't take apart the Bandit like a lego toy, all the pieces are intermingled just like a car, or a fighter jet. Interesting though, that the internal systems are armored individually underneith the skin armoring.
I wouldn't mind seeing the P2V Bandit with a roll cage myself...
Roll cage like the concept art?
Yeah, I could add that in just for the fun.
Heh, maybe the strikecraft with roll bars would be part of the faction deal.
now that would be interesting... lemme give that some thought.
Phobos? So the Turanics are Taurii? :P
Stop using such long words I don't understand... wait... it's not a long word.
Think of it more as a split-second decision because no better name came to mind.
I like the way this one looks m ore than the relic drawn one :
