Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

If I ever find time to make one, yes. If not, no.

Hard to say right at the moment. I need all the ship and races ingame first.

I wish someone would take an existing mod that's mostly complete, and with their permission make a campaign around that mod. Everyone wants to do a campaign, but they all never get to that stage.

Well the good news is I'm fanatically devoted to path to victory so there's no reason it shouldn't get to that stage.

My last step is adding in the raiders. Then I have all my factions and I can beef them up as wanted. My plan for the beta stages is:

1) Adding additional units to make it more fun. Some more frigates for the hiigs and kadeshi are planned. Hiigs and Keepers will get some platforms and a few other things all around to make it better.

2) Adding more maps to the mix with original settings etc.

3) Making at the least a very short campaign to prove it can be done and I can do it.

4) Balance everything as needed as right now balance is a little off. But for that I need playtesters.

That sounds fine by me, But could you consider adding capture functions to the Gardener, or adding a capture unit to the Deshi, cause right now they can't capture any map constructs(bases and the like....)

there will be capture units for them, exactly beacuse of that ;)

however they will be a bit.. different from what you are use to

I just suggested that the Resourcer for the kadeshi be used as a boarding vessel, I think I can handle odd Capture units....

when we still had factions for the kadesh in mind they actually had a resourcer that captured units.

maybe we'll implement it again as 2nd harvester or s.th., we'll see^^

why not just use the current harvester, It already looks as if it has a way to board.....

The idea was to make a 'scarab' like unit to capture ships. The idea is it can capture but every so often the ship it's capturing blows up along with the scarab as the 'deshi force their way into the ship.

Something like a 1% chance every second the ship is capturing. At least, that was the idea. I'm not quite sure how it will be implemented. Maybe we'll use the existing harvester and add a few 'legs' to it so it can grapple onto the ship it's capturing?

Description

With the advance of Kadeshi forces on Hiigaran Space from all fronts the third Homeworld War has begun. Hiigara is under siege, this time by a race which was one the same as them.

However centuries of solitude in the nebula has changed the Kadeshi. They have become bitter, their hatred for their old homeworld driving them to commit horrendous acts.

This is your time, Commander. It is time you took direct control on the battlefield. We are assigning a Detachment of the Expeditioinary Fleet to you. Your mission is simple: Engage the Kadeshi Crusade Fleets at any oppertuinty. Weaken them, slow their assault. You MUST buy time for Hiigara! You MUST slow them long enough for us to build up our defenses!

Go now commander, what are you waiting for?!
